i think people should be made aware of the need of education...then teachers should be taken care of well....they should b properly paid....next students shpuld b taught with innovative methods....jus take them to the real world...show them how water boils...dont just tell them that at 100 degrees water boils.....
students should b promoted to do innovative learning...will continue
the major problem affecting Indian educational system is the huge number of Urban students hitting the colleges. the youth population is on a steep rise and to accomodate this crowd there are not enough educational streams tht the government has been able to provide. in turn students are turning to private sector for help. though privatisation is welcome, it doesnt come without a price. the divide between the people who can afford it and the one who cannot will get larger and larger.
the solution wud be to get some professional help as far as the universities is concern and get a revamping of the educational system with lesser heirarchy and better and practical streams.

besides.. i really think indian education system needs a complete overhaul.here the whole stress is laid on one's academic performance..marks, %ages.. all a student needs to do to score well is mug up mug up & mug up and by the time he reaches the examination hall he is so quesy that he vomits out everything and voila! there he is loaded with the best job offers and somebody who lacks the art of cranmming up is left high and dry.. instead if we do away with the written examinations and introduce grading system based on project reports and all year performance it'll be more real as well will prepare students to be more spontaneous and use thier grey cells. introduce practicals in every subjet ans see the change for yourself..
but on a hind-sight i think things have already begun to change going by the industry's preference to work-ex of the candidates over their degrees.. this shows that practical exp is more in demand now and we are going global..
