It is quite surprising to see no activity on the Warwick. To me, Warwick is one of the finest school in UK and very well known in India (just in case anyone loves to come back). I saw one report claiming that Warwick is the only school in UK that improved their placement in last few years.

And no wonder, in one of the ranking, Warwick jumped 10 spots. I do not attach too much importance to ranking and hence I don't remember which one but, nevertheless, it is a great achievement.

However, what I found that, they are too late in admission process. By this time, most of the schools has filled up more than half of their capacity, Warwick is yet to start. It may be a unique strategy to catch all those good but rejected applicants from other top schools.

I have not yet heard anyone saying that he/she got an admission in Warwick. Although I noticed few people already applied.

So lets discuss about Warwick here.

For those who are paranoid about hard data .. who are fascinated with ranking ... here is the ranking

What I feel is, their ad-com is not doing a decent job for some unknown reasons.

The website is probably the worst I ever seen. The earlier version was much better with information clearly visible and available. Now absolutely no information about the crucial aspects such as programme, fees, etc. Or probably I am not web savvy. Anyway, if prospective students like me are unable to find information, then does not matter how best, creative, contemporary is your website.

Then the two videos on main page!! Please, it's a double edged sword. You may think these two are your best showcase but to me it appear a very low quality. I will be scared to join a school if your best sample looks like the two amateur videos. Instead of attracting prospective students, those two videos scaring people. Please, those are not so important to occupy your prime space.

Thirdly, I see absolutely no participation in any of the forums by any of the current student. Something amiss!!

It pains me to see some wonderful school to fade out due to inactivity. I still believe is is one of the best school after LBS in UK.

Hope someone will act.

It is so nice to see that they have addressed the website issue. However, those two videos are still prominently appear on their home page.

Wouldbecrazy - I am a full time MBA student at Warwick Business School and I understand that you are not happy with the website. The reason is - the full time MBA program is undergoing a major haul at the moment and there are a lot of changes being made to the website as well. The people responsible for maintaining the website have been given the updated information and all the relevant information should be up in the coming week. As you may have noticed, the information is only missing for the MBA program, the rest of the programs have up to date data.

Anyway, if any of you have any specific questions regarding the MBA program at WBS, feel free to shoot and I ll be happy to answer your queries here.

Dee

I just checked - the website is up and running!! :))

@deegeee

I would say the timing of website revamp or course revamp was wrong. This is the PEAK season when prospective students look for information and WBS earlier had absolutely no information on their website. Now the website got some information but still not very comprehensive and exhaustive.

I have serious issue with the 2 videos on the homepage. The vidoes may be alright in some inner page but no way deserve so prominent place in homepage. One would expect the VERY BEST samples in your homepage. I would not believe those two videos are the best sample of WBS, or may be I have much higher expectation from WBS.

If you are a serious student, care about your school, please give the feedback to your school and they can relook into it.

Needless to say, I have a very high regards for WBS.

I will share the feeback with the right people. Thanks for letting me know.

Could any one throw some light on how good is Warwick in finance? Also, how good is Warwick in comparison to Cranfield and Cass.

Cranfield and Cass have a consistent ranking records in past few years whereas Warwick was not ranked that higher earlier but it has jumped in recent rankings.

@mbaaspirantmba - Warwick offers a general MBA unlike a few other schools which offer a more specialised MBA in certain streams. ofcourse, you have the option of specialising in finance through the electives.

Also, an MBA is as good as how the students want it to be. Cass, Cranfield, Warwick, Manchester are all considered to be Tier 1 b-schools. so, it is really difficult to say which college is better amongst these. my suggestion is, dont go by the rankings. look at the course content and see what each mba has to offer and then decide which one really aligns with your long term goals.

hope that helps.

Actually I have offers from Cranfield & Cass. MBS was never in consideration as it is an 18 month program and I am yet to apply to Warwick (application initiated).

Cass is highly regarded for finance, am not sure about Cranfield (thought highly respected program).
Cranfield, Cass and Warwick all offer finance electives. But when it comes down to selecting one, which one to choose is what am confused about.

Welll, all of them are nice. Look at the costs associated with each is what I can suggest.. You will have to make the final decision yourself.

Thanks!

Between how good are finance professors in Warwick?

Without beating the bushes

CASS is known for finance and rest of the schools mentioned are known for General Management.

Quality wise, rest of the schools are much better than CASS and it is not surprising that many from other schools are doing great in financial fields.

The deadly issue is, UK has a very limited job option for you. Whether you like or not, coming back to India after your study is a real possibility. Choose a school that is well known and well regarded in India in your desired field.

Warwick has some really good professors in finance. They are all well established in their field and because of WBS' focus on research in recent times, a lot of high profile prof's have been appointed recently..

Thanks a lot!

So choosing Cranfield/Warwick (with finance electives) above Cass would be a better decision?
Cass is way more costly (also due to its location). And the quality of Cranfield/Warwick is better than Cass (as pointed out).
I don't have much inclination to work in uk after mba, but I'll give it a try as it will help me in shortening my RoI/loan repayment.
