Hi Abhishek,
I submitted my application in round 1 and got a interview invite yesterday, any tips on what type of questions they ask..It is my first MBA Interview..
Another thing, I saw that the course is only for 16 months..does it mean that the course is pretty intense? how do you compare the UTD MBA course to other school MBA courses?
Thanks in advance..

Hi Sri,
I'll break down the answers to your questions.
Types of questions asked and why UTD conducts interviews :
- Questions about your work experiences , why do you want to do mba, etc.
- Why interviews ?
- The interviewers want to see that you are are a good fit for the school.
- Whether you will be able to contribute in a class setting or not.
- They want to know more stuff about you.
Don't worry about the interview , my interview was less like an interview and more like a conversation. So stay relaxed and don't worry too much about it.
16 months program - Is it too intensive ?
Short answer - Yes
It is quite hectic and you will take time to adjust but this is how business life is and it's better you prepare and experiment with your time management skills in college rather than doing it in the real world. Don't worry about the course content, our profs. have a done a good job of making sure that we learn stuff and get a hands on experience.
UTD vs Rest ?
Every MBA college has it's own set of advantages and disadvantages. It is up to you to figure out which is the best match for your work ex, skills and requirements. For me, UTD course and program structure worked well ( that's why i am here :)). The answer to this questions is best answered by you. Let me know if you are looking for anything specific.
Thanks Abhishek. That was a really great and motivating reply.

Hi @Ghost13 ,
PFB my response.
1) Things I liked : Proximity to dallas (major industry hub), their close relation with companies in richardson, 16 months program, SAS certification, fees and the weather 😁
2) Qualities they look for : A well rounded person in terms of work exp / personal experiences and the willingness to give back to the class and society.
3) Your profile looks great 😃 but the assessment is not only profile based but also based on how well you do in the interview.
4) The Career services center organizes a lot of workshops to help you with job search. You can book appointments with them and discuss things like job offers , CV , etc.
5) Value of Pre-MBA Exp : You understand things a lot better and can easily relate to examples cited in class. Also, it is very important that you come with work exp to any MBA program because there will be instances where you will need to refer back to your work ex. to come up with meaningful solutions.
My concentration : Business Intelligence / Operations

Hey Abhishek
Business Administration (MBA) - UT Dallas 2013...
Master of Business Administration 53 semester credit hours minimum Degree Requirements The MBA degree is obtained by completing a 53-semester credit hour program beyond prerequisite courses consisting of 29 semester credit hours of core courses and 24 semester credit hours of elective courses.
However, I could not find much info.
Moreover, which SAS Certification is provided by Dallas ?
However, it was bit confusing. My query in short is what will be I-20 Cost w/o scholarship.
And if you don't mind answering, in how much time Indian students are able to repay their loans - in general!
Well another long post... 😛 😃
But I really appreciate your constant endeavor to help prospective students! Salute!!! 😁
The first link regarding concentration which I checked is :
Somehow, got changed once I posted.!
