This is my first post at PG :)... I gave gmat last november...got a 730 and applied to US b-schools..gave a few interviews and waiting for some more em...well one of my friends from BITS had compiled the interview questions...so any of you gets an interview call please prepare for the stuff posted here...its pretty exhaustive and overs almost all Q-types...Hope this helps...All the best for everybody out there!!!

- What are your long- and short-term goals? Why?
- Why are you applying to business school?
- Why does this school appeal to you?

- Give examples of how you have demonstrated leadership inside and

BE - 7.4 CGPA( CSE, REC, Trichy)
3 Yrs work ex at an MNC, Bgl as a S/w Engg.
Ah...the duke alumni who interviewed me said that my work ex was not enough...4 - 5 yrs should be fine i guess...anyways lets c what happens!
uRMad -> ;)...was in a hurry writing the essays and didnt proof-read them at all:(...screwed up ucla essays too!!
prgkt -> 2 yrs is very low man...if you are an entrepreneur or part of a start-up you can beef up your resume...if you are aiming for the top schools wait for a year or two!

Strange one
The school is ranked very very low in ratings but still i end up seeing a lot of ppl appliying to this school and some of its alumini in very high places in india atleast.
Could someone shed some light on this.

Fischer-Ohio is a decent school . Good for Finance esp. & their Career Services wing is better than most schools in the midwest. downside is that its quite an expensive school & Ohio is the state most badly hit in US by manufac outsourcing. So, placements have dipped. Otherwise, it deserves its place.

few of ur univ apps match mine too - got an admit from purdue, dinged at darden and waiting on ucla since long :-(
heard that Purdue gives out admits without any interview - almost all of my frends with gmat > 700 hav got an admit - surprised as to y they ask for essays

Actually i wanted to know to what extent the brand name of the company effects the foreign B school admission process. I'll be joining Hewlett Packard (hp) soon.
I just wanted to know that with a few years (say 3) at a company like that and a good GMAT score (700+) , do i stand a chance at a top american B school.
I have fairly decent acads ( CGPA 7.1) but i;m from VTU (university) which isnt really all that well known.

I too from RECT...got admit from Smith, Maryland(60 % aid), Rotman Canada with aid n W/L at Darden.
