Hi, I am a graduate in Biotechnology. I have a doubt in filling the registration form. In PART-1 they ask education qualification. I have had Botany and Zoology in my first year but under the name of Basic Biosciences. I also had Maths and Stats common subject. While they have an option of physics or chemistry as "one of the subject"  which luckily were separate subjects in ONLY first year, I am unsure what to fill. 

Q. Will my choice affect the mains subject selection?? 

(PS: I want to apply for IAS and IFS, hence "OTHERS" option is invalid for me)

  • Chemistry as one of the subjects
  • Zoology as one of the subjects
  • Botany as one of the subjects
  • Physics as one of the subjects

I am from engineering background! How many months of preparation is needed for decent study and clearing prelims and mains? I haven't applied for this year. I am planning to go for it next year i.e. 2019! Also is coaching suggested or self study can be sufficient?
