For all d newbies who are preparing for 2018 and all those who have not wrote mains till date. Please always keep in mind that it is mains that can take ur name to the merit list. Prelims is nothing more than admit card for the mains. So don't waste time on preparing for prelims now.
Your focus should be on completing mains+Optional syllabus by march and then last two month can be dedicated to prelims because it doesn't matter even if u score 180 in paper 1, it doesn't gurantee anything, mains is a diffrent ballgame altogether.
PS :- I had to write this because I m seeing that most aspirants have a mindset that they should focus completely on prelims to show their peers that they r seriously prep. for this exam (bcoz everyone will take them as casual aspirants if they flunk prelims) and mains can be cracked next year too if not this year.

Anybody up for Answer writing, it will be only 1-2 questions daily on ForumIAS. Last year the forumIAS was more vibrant, i could get my answers reviewed by 15-20 people but this year it looks like everybody is focussed on prelims.
It would be of great help for both of us. We can review each other's answers and help improve each other.
