From 1st Feb I have started preparing for UPSC, I have no aim of giving exam this year or the next. These are the books I am following for indian history.. 1.India's Ancient Past: R.S SHARMA 2. Medieval Vistrit of India: Satish Chandra 3. The wonder that was India: A. L. Basham 4. India's Struggle for Independence: Bipin Chandra 5. India After independence: Ramchandra Guha Are these books enough for Indian History or I should complement them with some other texts? ( Excluding NCERT)
The most ancient decipherable writing was of 3rd century BC of Ashokan Times(Source R.S Sharma) , But if that's true how can the Rig Veda dating back to 1500-500 BC has been understood..? Reply ASAP..
