MP Shatrughan Sinha felicitates CSE 2015 Batch of Chanakya IAS Academy on selection in UPSC 2015
The Chanakya IAS Academy recently organized a felicitation ceremony to honour their students who successfully secured 361 seats out of the 1078 final selections done by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Shatrughan Sinha, actor and Member of Parliament who was the chief guest commended the students. He said, "India requires more of the young force to rise up and shine. I would wish these phenomenal students the very best in their career and also urge them to take up their position with honesty and integrity."
AK Mishra, Founder & Managing Director, Chanakya IAS Academy, said, "Civil Services is one of the most elite services in the world. Cracking this prestigious exam is all about having the right combination of passion, hard work, determination, sincerity and an uncanny zeal to excel. This is where our students differ from their peers and we differ from the rest as an institution. With sincere efforts, one can attain excellence in any chosen field."
Out of the 361 successful candidates, four students are listed in the top 10, six students in the top 20 and 31 students were placed in the top 100. The highest rank scorer, Athar Aamir was placed All India Rank (AIR) 2nd among all the students. Aamir, while sharing his experience, said, "The biggest mantra of success is passion, dedication, and hard work. My family's support was one of the biggest motivations for me to achieve success. Chanakya IAS Academy also helped with the detailed study material and constant support to get through it successfully."
Sarneet Kaur Broca (AIR 39, CSE 2015) said, "It is vital to stay focused while answering the prelims as every wrong answer has negative marking. The multiple-choice questions (MCQ) in the prelims require a different strategy than that of the Mains preparation."
The Chanayaka IAS Academy also announced their scholarships programmes to meritorious students for pursuing classroom programmes through their various study centers spread throughout India (The academy has two centres in Delhi and one each at Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Pune, Chandigarh, Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Patna, Guwahati, Gurgaon and Kashmir). Hundred per cent scholarships will be awarded based on the eligibility & aptitude of the student, the details of which will be published on their website. http://www.chanakyaiasacademy.com/
The felicitation ceremony brought together eminent politicians, doctors, defence personnel and other veteran bureaucrats of India who in turn discussed burning issues, scientific developments and technological prowess of India as well as how civil servants can help create a better India.
Tips to prepare for govt exams
Today I was searching for "Uniform Civil Code". I searched on Google but there was only several news reports nothing more than that, hence can't be able to get satisfactory points. My question is how should I get thorough notes on these types of stuffs for the level of CSE. P.S: am not taking coaching.

IAS Prelims 2016
- Preparation of new topics that have previously not been covered
- Reading archives of the Hindu
- Reading archives of the Yojana and magazines like Civil Services Times
- Rote learning from the India Year Book
- Making Notes for most important topics (apparently) a few weeks before the exam
- Learning topics from Mrunal superficially and not doing a detailed follow up
- Going through previous year papers with the aim of remembering questions
- Setting a cutoff and strategizing to attempt questions that'll fetch them marks as per the set cutoff
- Excessive Panic weeks before the exam
- Excessive discussion with fellow students
- Not attempting any Mock tests
During the Exam -
- Wild guessing in Paper I
- Not making an informed decision as to what question to attempt and what to leave
- Wasting time once the paper I is finished and not investing that time in revising the paper
- Spending too much time on Comprehension in Paper II
- Not Attempting Questions from Quant and Reasoning first
- Marking on the OMR sheets along with attempting questions even though it should be done in the last 15-30 minutes.
