I have heard some good things about the faculty and the funding options at UMass, but havent heard much about the SOM. Pointers of any sorts would be useful !

Puys who have already applied to Isenberg and received a call, please pour in your experiences.

My friend did get an admit last year.The career services aint that great and that was the reason he chose mcgill over amherst.

This school doesn't seem to be popular among puys. I found just this one thread on this school. Any particular reason? Is the reputedly bad career services cell just a personal opinion or a truth? Plz expand this thread. It is one of the Univs in my shortlist. Your insights will help me decide whether I should apply or not.

University of Massachusetts researching techniques for individual genes for inactivationa technique with broad potential implications for both basic science research and human disease. Two scientific teams at UMMS, one led by Scot A. Wolfe, PhD, an assistant professor in the Program in Gene Function & Expression and the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Pharmacology, and the other by Nathan D. Lawson, PhD, an associate professor in the Program in Gene Function and Expression and the Program in Molecular Medicine, working with a small fishthe zebrafishcommonly used as a model organism in biomedical research, developed a method to create and deliver a tailor-made restriction enzyme that inactivates a specific gene in a zebrafish embryo. The paper, Targeted gene inactivation in zebrafish using engineered zinc-finger nucleases appears as an Advance Online Publication of the journal Nature Biotechnology.

Have you found out more about Isenberg. I am thinking of applying to Isenberg, but my GMAT score is low. Are you applying to Isenberg?

No. I may have, but they didn't waive the TOEFL requirement for me. I don't like such schools.

Please provide your valuable opinion abt the school. I wasnt even able to get in touch wid an Alumni or a current student.
