PREPARING MET-2014 : BASIC GUIDE
After going through the prospectus, old pagalguy threads this is what I found
The paper has, as per prospectus, is of 2 hours and has six parts:
(i) General Knowledge (ii) Economics & Business Environment Awareness
(iii) Data interpretation and problem solving (iv) Numerical Ability
(v)Verbal Ability/ Reasoning and (vi) English Comprehension
Analysis of 2012 & 2013 Question Papers reveals :
a) There are 120 questions to be attempted in 120 min.
b) Level of questions in sections (iii) to (vi) is not very difficult, it is the speed that matters.
c) Sections (i)&(ii) were mereged in 2012 and section (ii) was absent in 2013.
d) Breakup of questions is 24 ques x 5 sections = 120 ques.
How to Prepare ?
- For sections (iii) to (vi) any MAT or IBPS level book is sufficient.
- For G.K nothing can be said as it is very unpredictable. However, current affairs might help.
- For ECONOMICs : Use the economics part of any Banking exam book or if you come from an engineering background like me refer NCERT XII both Macro & Micro
