The Last Date for Receipt of Completed Forms at the Institute by Post and in Person is October 29, 2011
Written Test (at Different Centres) December 04, 2011.
About Masters in Social Entrepreneurship:
The intake for Social Entrepreneurship program is 29 or 30. Reservation is applicable as per GOI guidelines, please refer brochure for details.
This course is for those people who aspire to be entrepreneurs with an inclination to solve the social problems.
Note that there will not be any placements. The objective of the course is to start up your own venture.
Download the sample question papers from the admissions link provided above, the final entrance will be on similar lines to that of the sample paper. There is no negative marking in either PART-A or B. Please do not confuse with HRM & LR course.
You can post all your queries regarding social entrepreneurship program. Any of the PR team member will try to answer your query at the earliest. Please do not spam the thread. Do not forget to read the previous years threads. The brochure shall answer most of your queries, so first read it with patience and then if you still have a query we will be pleased to help you.

I know that there is no placement, but I want to know about the assistance to start our venture by TISS.
Please help us out with the GK for part 2 paper.......... which books or materials to refer to conquer part 2.

i understand why placements are done away with... however if i wish to work for some time before starting my own venture... what are the employment prospects in that case?... off campus placements that is...do existing social enterprises recruit MSE grads and are the salaries decent enough(may not be high but atleast sustainable)???

Hi Ishita,
The focus of the course is to start your own venture. All I can say is that being a TISS graduate will help one land a decent job in a social enterprise, irrespective of the course. But again, that's not what the course is aimed at.
its not so easy to start ur own venture in a corrupted country like india 😞

Thank you for starting this thread, I am not so gutted about the whole placement scenario, if you there for an entrepreneur degree why would you even think of working for someone else, the whole idea is to be an entrepreneur.
anyways that being said, last year i attempted the paper and missed the cut off by 1.5 marks or 3 marks I am quite frustrated with that.
last year the questions in part b were quite weird, they were like
who helped you in making a career choice after 12th?
why do you think this course is for you?
what is your personality type?
can't recall the exact questions but these questions have no correct choice. so what is the best way to prepare for part b?
Urgent help required for paper 2 preparation.....for the GK part there are many questions regarding NGOs, Govt. initiatives, Committee reports. Where can I get a concise material for preparation?
The question paper is mainly meant to assess a candidate's aptitude for entrepreneurship. So no need to worry regarding the difficulty of question paper. If you read newspaper regularly you can answer all the GK questions. Please put in some time to know about a few social entrepreneurs, micro finance organisations and social enterprises who have done innovative approaches to solve social problems. Read about Aravind eye care Madurai. Also go through some TED talks. No need to get too much tensed. Best wishes for exam. Hi! being in TISS and doing MASE is my near goal. Around this same time previous year I read a lot about the course through one Vamsi. I also watched his you tube videos about TISS, ever since it just stuck with me, being a social entrepreneur is my goal in life. I am very anxious for the test. It would be so good if I am part of TISS this time itself.
