Hey! Im in for DS. It would be nice prepare for the PIT/PI as a group. I have a faint idea about the PIT. Pi not so much. PIT is gonna essay-type. tips from seniors will be great!

welcome on board . I too have a call for DS . From where did you get the info about PIT, being essay type ?
PI, I reckon would include a lot of economics ,subsidies, govt. development schemes , census data , 5 year plans , micro finance sort of stuff .

Yeah, No placements is a lil disappointing .
here's what i found.
these, i got from the HR threads... but i was told, most of it is common stuff; applicable to the Arts courses
Anyone got any idea about placements for the DS course? I qualified for DS & MCS, but missed out on HRM by 1 mark. I'm a working professional and though I'm pretty interested in the concept of DS, my economics is weak (I'm from a B.Tech and MBA (Marketing) background), and 2 yrs invested towards studying without a salary might be a bit challenging for me if the payout isn't good. Also, I checked out the syllabus for DS, but it's all very academic in nature, without much (or any) real world exposure. Can anyone shed some light on my queries? Thanks

But at the same time TISS DS site clearly shows names like Planning comm., IIMs , MCX, PriceWaterHouse Coopers etc . where the students have interned .
Your second query is regarding money : Nobody out here knows the exact placement figures and remunerations offered simply because TISS has never published them .
I have contacted a few seniors on fb , hopefully they will show up here and address the queries .

7-20 march it has to be ! Let the dates come and in case of a clash , I think they will be considerate enough to accommodate .
