178. 6 hr 30 min
179 Zero hoga
180 53 of each with 10 min idle
@FSOG 178 --- 30*8 + 25*6 = 390 mins

179.
given ::: Ratio of P : Q has to be 3:1 & we have to maximize the output
so fr P we will use machine M2
in a day bth machine wrks fr 8 hrs
so M2 will produce (8*60)/8 = 60 units of P
so nw we need atleast 20 units of Q to maintain the ratio
to produce 20 units of Q,
M1 will wrk fr 20*6 = 120 mins
so total time left with machine M1 in a day is 480 - 120 = 360 mins
(as it also wrks fr 8 hrs)
so it will wrk in such a way tat .. it produces 3 units of P & 1unit of Q
so 3*10 + 1*6 = 36 mins
360/36 == 10 Cycles..
so ther is zero idle time

2nd one and 3rd one ambiguous..
2nd i will go for 24 min
3rd no clue what the question is saying
ratio wise would have gone for c
Teeno galat.
@FSOG said: 178.a 179.a 180. Dono sahi. Aapne woh P aur Q ka production time alag kyu liya hai? Official explanation bhi alag le raha hai.. 240 + 150 minutes kiya hai na?
Kyu??
I thought seedha 240 minutes hoga..
Aur second wala samjhaana toh, idle time ka funda hi samajh nahi aaya..

@FSOG option ko use kar ke karo ... ho jayega....
least effecient wo hoga jisme, time zayda lage aur production less ho.. ..

@FSOG - the ques can be done in this way Ye ques galat hai...it is (a+x)(b-x)=64 as i had done this one sometime earlier
AM >= GM
(a+x)+(b-x)/2 >= sqrt[(a+x)(b-x)]
hence a+b/2 > = sqrt(64)
a+b >= 16
Hence both 1,2 is possible
P.S. pehle lagaya tha ye ques isliye solve kar diya
