for how many 4 digit nos is thousand digit greater than tens digit, which is greater than unit's digit??
Whats wrong in the following approach:
lets take unit digit as 1 and tens digit as 2...corresponding nos can be-->70
then take unit digit as 1 and tens digit as 3...corresponding nos will be-->60
smilarly, 50,40..10
now lets take unit digit as 2 and tens digit as 3...nos will be 60
similarly for others will add as-->70*1+60*2+50*3....10*7=840

@MI8888 said: @nits2811ques - am I allowed to write in this thread?regarding the arrangement question I think it should be (10C3)*10 = 1200Select any three number and we can arrange them in only one way ( PS - we dont have to take care of zero in the thousand digit as according to the given arrangement thousands digit should be the maximum of the three digit chosen )and hundreds digit can be chosen in 10 waysSo , (10C3)*10
@CBZ123 said: Got it I missed 0 at unit's digit.! ans is 1200 as @MI8888 mentioned
@nits2811 said:wat abt the cases wen v have units digit as 1 and tens digit as 3...in question ko karne ka shortcut hota h...find the total number and multiply it by a fraction of arrangements...it goes as...numbers possible - 9*9*8*7dere wld b only one way of arranging dem i.e. thousands tens and units..soans is 9*9*8*7/6 = 756...is dat the answer ??
@firsty said:bhai 9*9*8 *10 nahi hoga ye- 1st dig is=9 options, next dig-first digit ko chodke 8+0=9 digs, 3rd=pehle do ko chod ke -8 digits, aakhri any of the 10 digs=9*9*8*10/6 coz pehle teen ke arrangement me bas ek hi jamega..
@nits2811 said:haan bhai main apni mistake realise kar chuka huun...i have given the correct solution later on..

@firsty said:yup thank u..10C3*10 best hai kuch dimaag lagane ki zaroorat nhi hai
