Kaptaan saahab - Let us know the final timing 😃

for how many 4 digit nos is thousand digit greater than tens digit,which is greater than unit's digit??

Whats wrong in the following approach:
lets take unit digit as 1 and tens digit as 2...corresponding nos can be-->70
then take unit digit as 1 and tens digit as 3...corresponding nos will be-->60
smilarly, 50,40..10
now lets take unit digit as 2 and tens digit as 3...nos will be 60
similarly for others will add as-->70*1+60*2+50*3....10*7=840

wat abt the cases wen v have units digit as 1 and tens digit as 3...in question ko karne ka shortcut hota h...find the total number and multiply it by a fraction of arrangements...
it goes as...
numbers possible - 9*9*8*7
dere wld b only one way of arranging dem i.e. thousands tens and units..so
ans is 9*9*8*7/6 = 756...is dat the answer ??

P=(3x5x7x9x....99)/(2x4x6x8x...100)
then
a. 1/3

b. 1/5

c. 1/10

d. 1/15

e. none of dese...
greatest integer less than or eual to (sqrt3+1)^8

dnt rember d ans bro....share ur approach whtever it is...

KOI mere sawaalo ka b jawaab do.....
dekhi is greatest integer waale mein...
let y = (sqrt3 + 1)^8
x = (sqrt3 - 1)^8
add both of dem x + y
u will observe one thing dat the odd power containing terms wld b cancelled and even power wld remain..
the beauty is x
so watever u get subtract one from that...u wld get the answer...
@nits2811
think i was unable to put my appraoch across

_ _21-->70 cases
_ _31-->60 cases
......... _ _ 81-->10 cases

now,
_ _32-->60 cases..
_ _ 42-->50 cases...

if we calculate it upto _ _87 we get

70*1+60*2+50*3....10*7=840

In ur ans it should be 9*10*8*7/6=840
Shorter approach is,
10c3*10=1200 but whats wrong in above app??
@nits2811
ques - am I allowed to write in this thread?

regarding the arrangement question I think it should be (10C3)*10 = 1200
Select any three number and we can arrange them in only one way ( PS - we dont have to take care of zero in the thousand digit as according to the given arrangement thousands digit should be the maximum of the three digit chosen )
and hundreds digit can be chosen in 10 ways

So , (10C3)*10

u are always allowed...
ohh i missed dose cases where the digits wld b the same...yeaa i feel thats correct...

Got it I missed 0 at unit's digit.! ans is 1200 as @MI8888 mentioned

yess 0 was missed i also made an error in the approach...
8*10*9*10 / 6 = 1200

bhai 9*9*8 *10 nahi hoga ye- 1st dig is=9 options, next dig-first digit ko chodke 8+0=9 digs, 3rd=pehle do ko chod ke -8 digits, aakhri any of the 10 digs=9*9*8*10/6 coz pehle teen ke arrangement me bas ek hi jamega..

haan bhai main apni mistake realise kar chuka huun...i have given the correct solution later on..

10C3*10 best hai kuch dimaag lagane ki zaroorat nhi hai
a. Even as a debate is on as to whether foreign companies should be allowed unfettered access to retail business, some large Indian conglomerates have entered the sector.
b. Wal-Mart may not be in India yet, but its essence is already pervasive here.
c. And, the tension that their entry has caused is palpable.
d. There may indeed be a kernel of truth in the hyped-up belief that launching a "Retail Revolution" is an attempt to overturn the traditional way of selling goods.
e. In the name of efficiency, and in the name of eliminating the much-abused middleman, they have already established niches in urban India and are aggressively expanding their operations.
