I can understand your point of view but continuous success and biggest fan base and the biggest sporting brand isn't the same as liverpool.
And barca's ex-coach and real madrid's current coach are dying to take his place.
So you can very well understand how man u is different from liverpool.
'Biggest fan base' in Asia because of the aggressive EPL brand marketing by ESPN-Star Sports...Outside Asia, Man Utd definitely doesn't have the biggest fan base...But when countries like China & India fall under 'Asia' it certainly gives some advantage..

Man Utd was not the same before EPL started in the 1990s. Liverpool was undoubtedly the biggest club in English soccer. But since EPL has started, situations have changed drastically. Now the route which Man Utd took, can be well followed by clubs like Man City & Chelsea(especially after their first UCL triumph).

And to lose fans, only 4-5 years of trophy-drought is required. Only the 'true fans' remain after that. Happened to Chelsea in the recent past when very few people used to call themselves Chelsea fans. Suddenly they won UCL and the fans are back 😁 :D

Will not be surprised if same happens to Man Utd(or any other club like Barca for that matter).Another year without any major may do the damage.

This statement has no evidence....And it has proved to be a mere myth in recent investigations by a section of the media..You can find no authenticated document as evidence(outside MB club website 😁 :D)

Mohun Bagan Athletic Club was established in the year 1889. It is the first ever Indian club to have won the IFA Shield defeating East Yorkshire Regiment by 2-1 on 29th July, 1911 to create history and make the whole world sit up and take notice of the Indian struggle for freedom against imperial Britain. The Government of India released a postage stamp in 1989 to commemorate this famous victory and to honour the club and its Immortal Eleven for the fight for an oppressed country. This is the only postage stamp in India based on a club. Mohun Bagan club was also declared as the "National Soccer Club of India."

and if some club is claiming to be the national club of india and if its rivals don't have anything to say about it... then that is the biggest proof in itself right?

From where you have collected this trash?
There is no evidence apart from the claim by the club itself.

These things of 'national club' are never documented.

The 'father of nation' or the 'bishwakabi' was never documented in any govt of indian docs...

But at least we can find those evidences in neutral sites like wikipedia...

(Un)fortunately this 'national club' thing doesn't have anything to base upon :D...anyway will not continue this discussion :)

PS: the postage stamp part is true and that itself is a great honour.

just 1 more post regarding epl and united:

When the 5th best team in a league wins the champions league defeating the messi's and ronaldo's then that says a lot about the competition in the league and the reason for its popularity.

People wont be watching week and week seeing messi and ronaldo thrashing hat-tricks against the malagas, sevilla's and lot la-la's :P.
We know from the start of the season who will win the spanish league (either barca or real) but the same cannot be said about EPL

2. Epl wasn't a new soccer format from the english league and it wasn't a different type of football.
Man U just played well and bought some nice players and that started their history.
The reason for United supporters to support them has also to do with the munich disaster(google- busby babes or munich disaster) and how a team can fight back from that.

Chelsea had 7-8 10 managers in last 10 years...
what did they achieve 2- leagues and a few fa cups, last year scraped through to champions league.
yes to loose only 4-5 year trophy drought is required.
But many came, many gone...
Man U didn't remain trophy less for more than a season...

If the financial structure of a team remains sound and the club continues to keep the ambition, it will succeed.
Liverpool can be a case-study of disaster and failure but United (the richest club) will never be like that.

PS: google the latest shirt sponsorship that United received.

PS: i know i spammed a lot in this thread but the discussion with debjit is a very good resource addition to footballing clubs and brands :P:P

Last post: when the 1st & 2nd placed teams of a league have to play Europa League & then they fail there too, that says enough 😁 :D

Sorry for the spams.

I always thought that ONLY a club named LIVERPOOL and its so called "LOYAL" supporters, who are in a fix now

Very saddened to see MAN U fans taking the same route

Why do fans of Liverpool FC talk about their History - because we have it - because we are the most successful club in English football and we are proud of it - because our loyalty does not depend on the no. of trophies won last season .

Enjoy the tag of European Champions while it lasts. We have five of those in our Anfield trophy cabinet .

always question themselves "why did we start supporting liverpool?"

Anyways fans of Chel-ParkTheBus-sea needed't ask themselves - "Why did we start supporting Chelsea" - because half of them have already migrated their allegiance to the blue half of Manchester - the newest entrants to the Moneybags category .

always take back everyone to their glorious past because they have nothing to show as of now....

Big talk coming from the fan of a club founded in 2003 , funded by a rich sugar daddy's billions.Just reminding you that even in the last year when we finished in our lowest league position(8) in 18 years - our record against you read 3-1(twice we beat you in your own backyard before we thrashed you at Anfield).

So do a bit of research before you take cheap potshots at other clubs .

How to do such ques?

people are not liking our FOOtball spamming here

I propose raven @[476807:DEBJITNAG] @papai nd oders interested to take this discussion offline at some Chaiyer Dokan 😃
