See, ek bande ko moderate karne kaho, preferably captain. Agenda saamne rakho, aur specific order every person will sing their song. The moderator will make sure that no two people go off on tangent topics at the same time.

Luckily tabhi koi God-level diggaj nahi the.

Those who know me from the close quarters, know how the 'Underdog' tags suit me very aptly..Don't want to reveal everything on a public forum,but I think you'll understand it clearly from my story...

As I hail from a vernacular background, to face the challenge of CAT(read VA) was one of the most daunting tasks for me. But I still made the decision to go for MBA right from the third year.
I could have opted for an M.Tech as JU has the legacy of churning out several GATE top 10/20/30s every year. Could have prepared myself better for the campus placements. But I did virtually nothing apart from preparing for CAT.The only goal for me in the final year was to crack CAT. As expected, I wasted the opportunity to get placed at the many of the most famous software giants and had to end up with an IT service organization. The problem was not just the ostensible lack of preparation for placement interviews. There were other issues as well. At that time,I was quite an introvert person with mediocre communication skills and I never realized to which extent I need to improve on my soft skills.
The effect of getting rejected from the interviews of Adobe,Citrix,SAP,HP R&D;, CDOT etc. in the campus placements certainly didn't go well. I was in a depression for most of the final year and then came CAT. I was sensing from the very beginning that nothing good was going to happen. Whatever I was trying, I was finding only failures.
CAT wasn't an exception. Managed a modest 97.58 percentile and got calls from IIM-S,SP Jain & MDI. And the soft-skill part was still there to do the damage. Got a straight reject form SPJain(Fin) & managed WLs in MDI and IIM-S. But IIM-S WL didn't convert. However,MDI-HR did send me admission offer on which I had absolutely no interest.
Joined Cognizant & again started preparing for CAT last year with more vigor.Started to visit PG regularly and got selected in KDT. I had the hope,the optimism which was missing last to last year.
But the result-it was still the same. A shock came on CAT result day when I found I could manage just 65.62 in VALR which virtually ruined everything. Had 99.46 in QADI and a 96.80 overall but it was far from fetching ANY call.
The elusive luck deceived again in XAT as I got 97.36 with a 76.23 in DM section.To sum it up- no XL-BM,HR calls as well.
Back in Feb-March this year,I was thinking what I should do next. I was a serious dilemma about whether I should go for the journey once again where a process called normalization can get better of anyone. I used to do one thing to find solace/motivation/inspiration: visit UDT '11 thread everyday.
And now I am again back with the very same goal in mind which has been eluding me for last two years-CAT. A selection in UDT is indeed a morale boost but the pressure to perform is no less than previous years. Ultimately,none will bother to ask my mock scores after Jan 8,2013.
This year, the approach would be a bit different. I have some back-up plans in my mind(not sure how much they are worthy as back-up plans but still....Also have started working on the soft skills seriously).Somewhere this vicious loop should stop.
PS: I know it has become a very lengthy post. I know very few would care to read the entire post. Sorry puys. Got a bit emotional while recollecting some incidents.
