Hi Everyone,

I have been hearing a lot about the 18 month general management PGDBA program from the Indo-German Training Centre - known as IGTC also... Apparently it is the educational wing of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce which kind of assures you 6 months working with leading companies...

Now, its suprising but till quite recently I haven really heard too much about the program or the centre - though their website is quite nice... Can anyone help me out here with any information about IGTC or its program? Has anyone applied for it or if anyone studying at IGTC can throw some light on it?

Thanks everyone

Dear Cutekooms,

Established in 1991, IGTC imparts a PGDBA program based on the German Dual System of Education, wherein theoretical studies are complemented with hands-on practical training in renowned German and Indian Companies.

German multinationals that currently support our practical training and placement initiative include Siemens, MICO, Bayer, BASF, Daimler Chrysler among many more.

Feel free to get in touch with me for further clarifications

Hey this is Ruby here, i got to know about it quite late & batch has already started, my father was really interested in the course as we have a company which itself is an Indo-German Joint Venture.
I called up at banglore IGTC & the female told me that they are ready to take me in through a telephonic interview if i clear it even after when the batch has started. Is it is t worth going when they taking me in without the selection procedure & how's the banglore centre, also will any compny recriut me when i will go now.
Plz do reply me soon (if possible on my mail id:[email protected] as i have to decide in two days cause batches have already started.
Thanks.

Pathetic at the Bangalore ITGC.

Guys beware, Mumbai is the only better centre and others are just falling short at every turn.

First of all the false promises made during the admission:

1. Choice of company (internship)

During all my visit I was said if I was selected by more than one company, I would be given the choice to select.
Sorry to say that till date I was not informed has to which all company had selected me nor the criteria of selection. Though I was asked to join ******, after much requests with you I was given the chance to meet the HR of ******* for change of company.

The college prospectus says decision on which company to join is purely with the center.

So this shows how these guys can change the policies just for the sake of keeping students to your centre?

Its no such policy...all in the hands of the a character Mr Director of Blore centre....and no guide lines tp rule the so called college.

2. Admission waiting list hoax

At the time of payment of fee, I received an e-mail from center director (Mr.Amitav Sengupta) saying the fee (1st installment 0f 25,000) has to be payed within due date as there are candidates in waiting list. Failure to pay the fee on time would result in loss of admission.

This mail is sent to all the candidates short listed. But I could see at the web site that admission were still open at Bangalore and Chennai.

Now during my discussion with IGTC on the refund, I was told i created vacancy and have made loss to the center.

Pure lies to fool ppl to join the cow shed!

Hi Tarun
I am qualified to speak about the training centre in Mumbai as i have been studying there since august last year. The system of education here is quite unconventional i.e application oriented, the professors teaching us are consultants or professionals working as department heads or higher. We share most of our lecturers with JBIMS, NMIMS, Welingkar's and SP Jain. The course begins generally in august and completes in 18 months.
However to gain admission one has to think at a written test (CET level), face a grilling GD panel and demonstrate qualities for potential employment at personal interviews conducted by German companies. Only students selected by a company for internship and subsequent employment are admitted.
Having said that, you should try and attempt the admission process as i know of no other institute that would conduct interviews with multiple German companies.
The last date for form submission is 29th april.

Please remember that my views are only on the Mumbai centre.

Dear Sean,

I need your advice on my situation.

I have recently secured a AICTE PGDM seat in one of the good B-school in mumbai with nice educational and placement record, the claimed ROI is 1 year with Avg.sal of 7 Lks.
(goods : 1) One of top colleges, 2) Placement is good (90% on campus)
bads : 1) Fees are high.)

I also have IGTC in my mind as the other option for its industry intensive and industry controlled admission process, the only thing that is bogging me is that IGTC program is not AICTE approved.
(Goods : 1) The selection itself means companies are advocating for you,
2) fees are low, 3) Less class size.
Bads : 1) The final placement is not assured at the training companies,
2) The course is not AICTE aproved)

I need to make a accurate decision and i need advice from guys like you, who are actually experiencing the course. Kindly advice your view on which should be my final choice.

I have work ex in engineering (3) and marketing (1yr)

Hey indianladka420,.

I am also facing the same dilemma at the moment,.

I have been shortlisted for the interview process at IGTC and at the same time I have also been shortlisted for an AICTE approved PGDM program,..

I have visited the centre and I am quite happy with everythn,.
Had a word with some of their ex students and they are happy with decision of coming to IGTC,. all of them are placed with decent packages,.

The only thing that is bothering me is the AICTE approval,..

But what i think is that,. the course makes you capable enough to get a good job with a decent pay pack (Avg Pacage - 4.5L as claimed),.and starting your career with a reputed german company really seems to be fascinating,.
They say that after working for more than two years., Its your experience (Company and Job profile) that really matters and not the recognition of the degree,..
But they have a network of 6000 odd companies out of which around 2500 are really the big names in the industry,.
I have got my interviews scheduled on 7th June,. I will try to keep the IGTC threads updated,.

Should i try for IGTC chennai? They told me that i have a really good chence of securing a seat with my good profile... I am still confused!!

throw some light on this centre!!!

@Anushasankar Hey, I have completed my PGPBA from IGTC, Mumbai. Unfortunately, I really don't know much about IGTC, Chennai. But what you can do is, ask them about the company in which you will get an opportunity to complete your 6 months of training. Check the past placements of the candidates with that company. Check the average packages as well. Please visit the institute and try talking to the students. That will be very helpful. :)
Hope this helps.. Wish u all the best..

how many of u get selected for personal interview round for IGTC mumbai ????
