hi guys, today recd the call letter from Tapmi. gd/pi is on 12th april at 8:30 am. Wonder how to make it at such an "unearthly hour"
in the letter its mentioned that we've to get a Reference Letter in support of candidature from a citizen of good social or professional standing.
Now, a/c to Tapmi who could best fit the bill? Neigbours? Boss @ Office? Tapmi fellas on the PG board, can you enlighten us?

dun b so confused and apprehensive bout TAPMI...its a gud institute by all means..
and since u rnt sure of any other institute as of now...go and give ur best...and i suppose by 15th apr the scenario will b pretty clear...
so i think u shud prepare in rite earnest for the GD/PI...as such its goin to help ya in GD for other institutes too...
well dats my opinion...

the brochure and the TAPMI website talks of some written test along with the GD/PI. TAPMI students on PG plz guide us what this written test is all abt?

my tapmi gd pi got over at tapmi campus on april 3rd.
something abt tapmi.....
infrastructure not great...
too many distractions in the form of girls (and each one of them pretty and hotttt to the coooorrreee, as in the general junta in manipal, viz,Kasthurbha medical college( i even felt that, that was one of their eligibility criterion for girls))
didnt find any tapmi junta as they were out for summers...
so if studies are what is in ur mind then i donno.....
okay comin to the process..
there were 7 rounds
1 gd (case study) was a fish market.... 15 people out of which 12 turned up
2 oral summary
3 written summary
4 360 degree appraisal (u mention who the best 3 and worst 3 speakers are)
5 extempore speech for 3 minutes.
6 psychometric test.
7 1st round interview by academic panel 1 guy from the industry and 2 profs)
it was a li'l stress especially the guy from the industry who is at max 25 yrs pld.
8 final interview by the director and 3 senior profs.
and u r pooped after that.
anybody who wants to know anything in particular can ask me.

I havent recived the call letter by post yet. Has everyone recived it. If you guys got it then how was it sent? was it by registered post? I just noticed that one of my semisters memo is missing and it will take me atleast a couple of weeks to get the duplicate, what are all the documents we are supposed to carry with us to the interviews? anybody has their interview on april 15th let me know.

I had given my Tapmi interview last year so I thought I wil post my interview experience .The post by Emperor is exactly what I went through but lemme give you the specifics..
1.First Round :A case study about a person selling pianos who wud not employ anyone else for fear of losing control.We were asked to liken the thinking of the manufacturer to that of a business organisation ,its pros and cons.
2.A 360 degree appraisal where in each of us were asked to write on a sheet of paper who we thought were the top three and the bottom three in the discussion.
3.A 3 minute extempore.Each would be given 3 mminutes for preparation .Topics were abstract as well as related to current affairs(for instance I spoke on Iraq war it was as current as it could have got) 😃
4.A psychometric test which was nothing but a Jo-Harry window analysis questionnaire(Google for more info.)
5.Personal Interview:Golden rule.If you are a fresher questions on acads if not questions on work and related industry.I was also asked "Whos Ramalingam Raju?" and they also asked me what Flexcube was.
I had a pretty freewheeling interview and at one point the oone of the panel members(there were two ) told me that "You seem to know everything .Why dont you ask us something?"
6.An interview with the senior most professors where in they would ask innocuous questions like "Why do you have a black and white photograph?" .The boss
( I mean the owner) Mr. Nagabrahma was lying in a sofa when asking questions in this round.
I got the final call in two weeks time but decided to give it a go and write Cat again.
Guys one tip and please take it seriously.. read the Frontline before you go for any B-School interview.For all the interviews that I have been so far to it has invariably given me an edge over others

dunno whether this is an april fool's prank but apparently one of my friend's got a call from the IMS office tonight at 8.30 ,,,,,,,,,,,and they informed her that there has been a PIL filed against TAPMI and the admission process fr this year has been declared null and void fr this year.... 
i dunno whats happening but if its true i've had it!
anyway if anyone hears anything on this issue pleeaaase let me know.

can any one out there tell that how much they emphasize on academics .. i heard they ask u your fav subjects (2-3) and they grill u on that ...im in my final year of MSC in computer application and Infoamtion technology...
so what should i expect from them .... a wide range of questions ???

This information is for all Tapmi aspirants.. and as far as I am concerned this information hold good.
Well lets start with the infrastructure facilities, this is one area which is very important while selecting a b-school, the kind of infrastructure which Tapmi is going to have when you guys come in will be comparable to the best in the country,
Is it confirmend that the new batch joining TAPMI will move into the new campus ?
I think they revised the date to Early 2005 now which was like 2004 end in the prospectus ...
Hows the existing infrastructure ???
Also PGians would surely like to hear tips from you about the selection process
Otherwise hows manipal?? i have my interview on 20th apr and have been told to be prepared to stay an other day(like everyone else !!) .. would hostel accomadation be good or u cud suggest some hotels close to the campus
