Tough call and would depend on what you want.
This year everything is weird, this yer is unlike any other year.

It is unfortunate that all of us are now doing mba because to be honest under my analysis, The indian MBA education scene is all up in the air and things will only be clearer in 2012 or 2013 when all the new iims have had opened up, most other established schools open up new campuses all across the country (imt-hyd next year in collaboration with Vijay Mallaya, XIM(b) is opening up not one but in my knowing two more xim within the state to celebrate its silver jubilee, SIBM-B just got some stellar summer placements which seem very ludicrous given its age and new foreign schools are about to set shops - http://www.businessweek.com/bschools/content/may2010/bs20100527_523198.htm ) All this will make the situation up until 2012-2013 very dicey and the status-quo among the business schools in India all juggled up and up for the grabs.

As if matters couldn't get worse (in terms of decision making), the Indian goverment is mulling over reducing loan rates for education loans drastically and to add to that, the government is supposed to pay the interim amount for the moratorium period on behalf of the student. This significantly changes loaning options and capability of students.

Decide long term, look at your mba education as an investment into a company you are going to hold for life. If the institute prospers you will too, if it doesn't you will certainly have hinderances :)

Hi, although its not a cfa thread and they should probabaly talk outside of it but its important enough a topic for people to talk within the thread once often. It helps to know that people can prepare for a tough exam in groups and it helps more to know that people of similar interests study in the same place they are studying :)

So, tell people politely, if 18 people from a batch of 180 cross the CFA it will only better the brand value of tapmi at the end of the day.

Did anyone of you, by any chance, get through to admissions dept regarding 60 seats? I have been trying to get in touch with the concerned person since afternoon, but to no avail.
I am not sure whether to treat no news as good news at this stage.

Well i would say, both are of almost same level. Now, its upto you which you find more convenient, do some research yourself w.r.t the profile u want after MBA.

^^^^^
not till now...planning 2 call them 2morrow.
My fate lies with the AICTE. Hope 2 get some good news 2morrow.

Just thought of inquiring about a more significant thing in this thread pertaining to the candidates interested in CFA as a long term career prospect... other than daily calling up the institute & inquiring about the AICTE approval...!!
and it is directed to the students of TAPMI batch 2010-12 ... as the name of the thread reads d same....!!!!(with respect to the inquiry being off-topic in dis thread)

well don't know since wen did AICTE approval became unimportant? And are you suggesting that only people who have been selected in the institute are welcome in this thread? I i deeply apologize for pursuing the very unimportant task of tryin to contact the administration for some news....didn't know this thread wasn't meant for it.

hey puys

lets not discuss this stuff here whether wat is important and wat is not..
just hope to get the news of approval and waitlisting proc to finish asap.

Hey now calm down buddies. I know the people in the waitlist (including me) here are at nerves end now speculating about the AICTE thing and the waitlist going on and on.

But people this is an open forum and all TAPMIANS (selected + waitlisted) are most welcome to share their thoughts here. Naturally waitlisted guys wanna talk about the seat approval thing while the selected guys wanna talk about life at TAPMI. So be it. Why do you want to tell anyone that their post is not what is appropriate to this forum?

Calm down fellows and make this thread a cheerful place.

Well, there is already a thread going on PG for CFA. After 1st query itself you all shld have directed that person to that thread.

Chill guys, all you wise people plz dont discuss this here on this thread.

P.S. Dont take this personally, any one of you.

I have talked to Admissions Dept. only once to get my WL no. & that too was good 15-20 days back. That time they were not sure about the AICTE approval for 60 seats. Going through the various posts on previous pages, I get the feeling that the college itself is optimistic about the approval, hence they released the list of sectoral courses. They are not denying it but are not committing any date as well. But I believe that the stage has been reached where neither the college nor us can delay the proceedings further. I mean if it has to happen, it has to happen now. I am sure that they would realize that they need at least a period of 3 weeks or say 3 WL movements now to fill the 60 seats as most of the students would have joined other courses or institutes. Similarly the working people cant expect to be re leaved in 2 weeks or so. So if it has to work for both parties, it has to work now.

I am not sure how things work at AICTE office or how things work between college & AICTE team. But both parties need to understand that this delay wont work for either of them. It has to be yes or no(God forbid ; but at least it will give us opportunity to look at other opportunities) now.
With this hope, I am going to call the Dept. again tomorrow that we get the answer to the fate of 240 students. Just like today, I am going to try again contacting them & if any one of you is able to get in touch with them, please share the feedback & the vibes you get at the earliest.
Thanks in advance.

well i guess my waiting time is up. No news of AICTE approval. KJ Som starts on monday and will be joining there.
All the best for the converts and who will do later!
