JODHPUR DONE RIGHT - The Connect with SIMS Team at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune take this opportunity to announce the success of our visit to Jodhpur.
The CWS team in the past has represented our B-School in various cities across India. But this year, was the first time we officially visited Jodhpur and we were enthralled by the response we got during the various sessions that were conducted to spread awareness about SIMS, Pune which is India’s first and only Public-Private Partnership between Ministry of Defence (MoD) of the Government of India and Symbiosis International University (SIU) catering to defence personnel and their dependents.
During the visit, we could connect with an audience of close to 300 defence personnel and act as the Brand Ambassadors for SIMS.

The Connect with SIMS Team at Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune are glad to announce the successful completion of our third visit for the year.
And this time we represented our B-School in our very own city.
SIMS through its one of a kind Public-Private Partnership between the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Government of India and Symbiosis International University (SIU) caters to all three wings of the defence forces. But this was the first time we got the opportunity to represent SIMS amongst Air Force personnel and it was our privilege to do so at one of the largest Air Force Bases in Pune.
Through our initiative, we could connect with an audience of close to 350 defence personnel where the focus of the visit was to highlight the opportunity of pursuing an MBA at SIMS to the defence fraternity and clarify any doubts regarding the process or any other aspect of the same.
Thank you, Pune for being such a great audience. We are now sure to add more students to the SIMS family from Pune this time!

COLLABORATION WITH SMARK FOR SIP WARRIOR 6.0
SMARK – The Marketing Club of SIMS successfully organised its event ‘SIP Warrior 6.0’ conducted on 20th August 2019 which turned out to be a huge success! SIP Warrior 6.0 is a competition for all those budding managers who believe that their SIP (Summer Internship Project) was better than the rest.
This initiative was taken by SMARK with the aim to help SIMSites foster their personal and professional development, providing a platform for student managers to discover and explore their potential through this event and for the junior batch to take away some crucial and experiential learning for their upcoming internship season.
After multiple strenuous rounds that were conducted, there were total 12 finalists from the 2018-2020 batch and each participant was given a total 12 minutes to present their Summer Internship Project Presentation.
Manisha, Manish Kumar Pandey and Shirin Sharma were declared the winners and awarded a cash prize of Rs 10000, Rs 5000 and Rs 4000 respectively
‘Alfaaz’ the literary presentation competition was a Intra College event held by Team Abhigyata – The Library Club of SIMS, put out with the intention of helping our fellow student managers to become confident in public recitals.
For the event, a number of students came in with their poems, short stories, and life experiences among other genres.
The event wrapped up with some memorable performances and a lot of key takeaways for all the participants including the winners Stuti Chakrabarty (Winner), Mohit Pandey (1st Runners Up) and Shad Khan (2nd Runners Up).
Infinite – the finance club at SIMS, Pune successfully conducted their flagship event, Stock Market Simulation on 20th August, 2019.
It was organized by the club to inculcate the knowledge of stock market operations among students.
The event saw a huge turnout of participants, and was well received by both finance and non-finance students alike for its unique, interactive and inquisitive conceptualization.
All the participants pulled their socks up but in the end three teams emerged victorious for their smart investing decisions and acting on their toes.
The teams of Satyanarayan Upadhyay & Saurabh Savant (MBA 2019-21), Chayan Bhattacharya & Sumit Telore (PGADM-19) and Sweta Kumari & Shubham Sharma (MBA 2019-21) were declared the winners and awarded cash prizes.
SIMS Yoddhas - a unit of the UNESCO award winning Cancer NGO, Yoddhas, recently conducted their first event of the year – ‘Aashayein’ where student managers were given the opportunity to showcase their creative side and make or write something that would be given to the little Yoddhas who fight a battle everyday.
Vikash Kumar, Batch - 2019-21; Swagta Singh, Batch- 2019-21 and Nikita James, Batch- 2018-20 were awarded the winners for thinking out of the box.
But that’s not it, SIMS Yoddhas also gave the winners an opportunity to visit Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital & Research Center where they could themselves present their work along with those of their batchmates to the little brave hearts whom they made it for and spend time with them.

The MUN Society at SIMS Pune, recently conducted their flagship event Intra MUN on Aug 28th 2019. This year there were two committees, UNGA and UNSC. The agenda for UNSC was the Civil War in Yemen and Middle East and the agenda for the second committee, UNGA, was the US China Trade War. It was a wonderful platform for student managers to work on their debating and public speaking skills, along with getting specific insights on the topics. Delegate of China in the UNGA, Mr Akshit was awarded the Best Delegate Award. Delegate of Saudi Arabia in the UNGA, Ms Tista Chaudhary; Delegate of Saudi Arabia in the UNSC, Ms Daphne Rose and Delegate of Iran in the UNSC, Ms Spriha were all awarded a High Commendation.
Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi is a festival which celebrates the arrival of Ganesha to earth from ‘Kailash Parvat’ with his mother, Goddess Parvati. The Ganesh Chaturthi festivities were organized by the Infrastructure Cell and student managers of SIMS.
Ganpati Bappa came to SIMS on the 2nd of September to bless all our student managers and was welcomed with great zeal and joy. From the Traditional Puneri Pheta (headgears) to a Dhol Tasha group ‘Antarad’, we had it all.
Ganpati Ji was welcomed and showered with love during his stay on campus!
A poster making competition was also held during this occasion and Priyanka Maharana (MBA 2019-21), Chirul Jha (MBA 2019-21) and Anand Sir (Head Chef) were awarded the winners.
