I'm sharing my wisdom as people are fighting with illogical reasoning and over a
irrelevant SC/ST/Poor/Gen topic.

1. There were very few people before agricultural revolution 12000years ago but after that people increased at faster rate. So, blame agricultural revolution, then.
2. It is not SC/ST who are responsible for population boom but their pooe economic condition is. They need more hands to work with. Plus, they are less educated so no family planning.
3. Gen/UpperCaste/Middle Class people think of their children's education and halth so lesser childs. Plus, they are educated so they do family planning.

Summing up above points. If you want lesser population then support caste based reservation. It will lead to economically empowered SC/STs. That will lead to fewer child as more people will come into the fold of middle class. It's a cycle actually.
Honourable supreme court view.If judge is sc/st,obc,gen & his driver is sc/st obc gen. How can be both are equal ??
