New Delhi, Mar 2: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into alleged SSC CGL Tier II Exam 2018 scam. “Thousands of aspirants are demanding a CBI inquiry into the SSC exam scam. This issue is related to their future. The central government should immediately accept the aspirants’ demand and order a CBI inquiry,” Kejriwal tweeted. The Centre also asked the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) investigate the alleged leak and “mass cheating” in SSC CGL Tier I examination paper, conducted on February 21, after the job aspirants staged protests in Delhi for three days, continuously. The government also said that the CBI would also look into the matter. The announcement was made by SSC amid the protesting students. The students have alleged that pictures of the question paper had gone viral even before the exam was over. They added that the investigating agencies should probe if there was a nexus between the officials conducts the test and officials at the Commission. “On the one hand, for the last several years, almost all the government recruitment processes have been halted, jobs are being reduced drastically, and on the other such scams have become a norm whenever any recruitment exam happens,” a protester was quoted as saying by The Hindu. The SSC aspirants were supposed to take the SSC CGL exam between February 17 and February 22. However, on February 21, Pictures of the paper started going viral on the social media. Although the SSC announced that this exam will be re-conducted on March 9, the candidates have alleged “mass cheating”.
