Everyone has eager to know profile, salary, income, perks, postings, bonuses, facilities for AAOs! No one wants to know duty of AAOs! Let me describe in details. Assistant Audit Officers (AAOs) are posted in different offices under Comptroller & Auditor General of India. These offices are situated in different cities of the country. CAG also has its 3 offices in abroad viz. London in UK, Washington in USA and Kuala lumpur in Malaysia. One can get posting there also, it depends on your ability. CAG does audit of Indian Embassy in different countries. It does audit of different bodies of UNO, U can get chance of audit of these bodies too. There are several offices like AG Offices in all states (further it has divided in two parts General & Social Sector Audit and Economic & Revenue Sector Audit (E&RSA) in big states, in small states there are only AGs offices) Offices for Central Government offices, Railway Audit in Zones and Divisions, Postal & Telegraph Audit in Delhi and other cities, Scientific Audit for audit of Science related, Defence Audit, Air Force Audit, Navy Audit offices in Delhi and related Cities, for PSUs and commercial units there are some Members, Audit Board (MABs), there are some Regional Training Institutes also. Meaning of telling you all these silly things that you all can get posting in these offices also. Be ready for anywhere in any office. Transfer policy: commercial AAOs may be transfered anywhere in India as they they have central cadre. But all other have restrictions. Defence, Air Force n Navy AAOs also may be transferred to anywhere in India. But in Civil Audit n E&RSA you all will get state cadre means u ll not be transfered out of your cadre state. Promotion: Your seniority ll be counted from date of passing of Departmental Exam Subordinate Audit Services (SAS) (now changed, Previously it was from date of passing SAS or completion of probation, whichever is later). So try to pass this exam asap. But you need not to worry about passing this exam. You all ll be given a 7 month long training at corresponding RTIs. U ll have to study hard. Generally U all ll get next promotion after completion of 12 to 15 years and its on seniority basis and as per APAR. Some places it may take more than 20 years too. This is cons of this Department. Otherwise you are a Group B gazetted officer. Next promotion is Audit Officer, Sr. Audit Officer and if u have good luck then ll get opportunity to be inducted in IA&AS n ll be Deputy Director of Audit or Deputy Accountant General. Work Profile: U ll have to audit of state government offices, central government, autonomous bodies, State n Central PSUs, Central n State Ministries. Minimum 80% staffs posted for field audit. There is rotation policies for staffs. Generally an employee should not be in a section more than 5 years. Salary: Your basic ll be 47600. Apart from this TA, DA n HRA as per classification of cities you ll get. During tour Tour Allowance, Daily Allowance, Fare, Local Tour Allowance also ll be given. Approximately it would be more than 1000 Rs per day. In office its 5 working days in a week. But in field it depends in Auditee office working days. Work pressure is depend on posting, audit people feel pressure during Performance Audit or Theme Based Audit or UNO Audit. But during transaction audit and other audit there is lesser pressure. Rest u ll know after joining this Indian Audit & Account Department. (person knows better please ignore this post, this is not for you)
