SSC CGL Tier I Exam 2017 cut off isthe hot topic among students. Let us discuss about theSSC CGL cut off 2017. There are a lot of discussions on various websites about the expected cut off of SSC CGL Tier I 2017. Most of the websites are of the opinion that thisyear cut off is going to be higher.Popular and big websites are predicting cut off of around 140 for the tier I. However I am a student like you and I do not agree with the views of those who are predicting higher cut off. I have discussed about the cut off with many students who have appeared in this year SSC CGL Tier I Examination.After analyzing many factors I am of the opinion that SSC CGL cut off 2017 should remain lower to the last year. In fact it should be significantly lower. I will share reasons and basis why it should remain low. As you have also given the exam this year you may be in a better position to understand what point I am making here.This is true that the level of competition is increasing day by day. The level of preparation of students is also increasing. The pattern of the exam is also same ascompare to the last year. Still cut off should remain much lower to the last year because of 2-3 reasons which have taken place this year. Those who are predicting higher cut off are not looking to these aspects.SSC CGL cut off 2017The aspects which I am talking about are first is the reduction in the time limit which is a major factor. Last year the exam was of 75 minutes this year SSC has reduced it to 60 minutes. Although time has reduced but the number ofquestions and exam pattern is the same.If you look at the percentage terms SSC has reduced time by 20% for the same exam. Time is very crucialin these exams. This time reductionwill impact the performance of the students in two ways. First students will get 15 minutes less for the same exam and same number of questions. Second, 60 minutes is a very less time and it will also have psychological impacton student’s mind. Time pressure will have affect on the performance of the students.This year the level of General Awareness paper is slightly high in comparison to the last year which may also has an impact on the cut off.However while giving any exam your objective should be to score as high as possible. Only after completion of the exam you should do analysis of cut off.Now coming back to percentage terms, going by the 20% reduction time the cut off should also reduce by 20%. It means that if in 2016 the cut off for general was 137 it should be around 110 this year. Butit cannot be so straight. In my view the cut off this year should be in therange of 118 to 125. It can go even lower.
