On solving a problem, I got a + b√ 3 = 5 + 2 √ 3.
So they decided a= 5 and b=2.
But there are many other combinations that can satisfy. How can we decide their values?

Please clarify... In SSC TIER II I have to take Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 4. I have no knowledge of Paper 4.( I didn't pay much attention to it while filling the form). Now, is it mandatory for me to clear the cut-off (of Paper 4) to be considered for other posts( not related to Paper 4) that I applied to ? OR
Is it possible to skip the paper (Paper 4) entirely (i.e. absent in Paper 4 and present in other papers) and still be eligible for other posts ? thank you in advance
