I have been a part of the group guilty of doing all sort of off-topic talks here, but now onward, I would limit my rants, opinions and news only to CGL-2013 thread. Request all of you to do the same. This way we can study in this group(atleast CGL-13 failures like me can :P) and the stakeholders of CGl-13 can have a concentrated discussion at one place designated for it.

But alas, that is the only way of living known to people like you. Have you ever thought of pricking a pin and take out your own blood in the name of ur god. Your reply would be, "no-no! that hurts me and my god is so Merciful!! He does not wish me to hurt myself!" Open up your wisdom a bit here, and just replace yourself with an animal. Now simply ask yourself, "Can the god, the merciful, be ever cruel or merciless to an innocent creature, that He Himself created in this world?" And perhaps you'd get the answer. Really,you have no authority to kill gods's own creation. Other than your lust for meat, you have no other reason why you would eliminate a creature made by ur god.
Sacrifice (that is very much common 2day) means parting with something that is your own. Animals are different species, not born off human embryo. And they already belong to the god, not you. Whom are you fooling by offering something to the god, that already is of the god, and not yours? Your claim to consider urself a good human being even after killing is therefore, a false claim.
Economic reasons can never validate barbaric savagery. Flesh trade or human trafficking is believed to generate a lot of employment. Porn industry or nudity-selling definitively involves good economics. Should these too be allowed for economic goodness?
This year, Aussies sheep were banned for sending to mid-east for being murdered.
Things are definitely changing, though for muslims and some other wonderful people, shackles of myths are hard to break free.
