In a reply to my query regarding states pref and whether legal action shoul be taken or not...Ssc-NWR Please upload a copy of RTI reply so that I could know exact status. Ideally, candidate higher in merit should get desired state but there are many dimensions. E.g., for some states, posts may remain vacant but user deptt. need personnel there immediately. Second, sometimes deptts. do not adhere to states allocated by SSC and SSC is involved in litigation. SSC has no control over anyone.So, it would have been considered proper to do away with state preferences and let the deptts. decide posting themselves. After all, they have to utilise services of selected candidates in the way they want but of course, they should have a fair and transparent allocation policy. It is ridiculous that a candidate is forced to take exam again just for change of state. Why deptts. do not make a fair transfer policy. But who will listen. Only SSC listens to everybody and criticism. It is surprising fact that intially, RTI was most used by Govt. employees to get information from their own departments.When this is situation of fairness and transparency in departments, what can be done.I feel, SSC must be given some powers to enforce things, be it school/college or Distt. Adminstration or user department or Candidates( in cases of debarment and legal/criminal action for malpractices).Then only SSC should be given additional responsibilities. If the Candidates want SSC to do things (if they consider SSC a fair and transparent organisation), they and of course, their elected representatives can take up the matter for these things. After all, it is democracy and what the public wants, is bound to happen. I think you could have understood what I want to say
