You might have filled the test form number wrongly or might have not filled the ovals . You need to file RTI to check what exactly went wrong. But as per SSC officers the list is final.
Why is there * in my name ?
It is just a mistake by the computer that generally happens when result list is made.
Can I change preferences ?
No idea. Earlier you couldn't but as per recent post by SSC NWR you can.
