I have a 5 year gap in my CV and I was thinking that I would be fortunate even to draw 3-4 lpa even though I used to draw ₹8.4 lpa 4 years ago. But I was unemployed for 4 years continuously and 5 years in total. But then, a job opportunity came, I asked for 6 lpa hoping to land 4lpa and they ended up offering me ₹7.5 lpa. What's more interesting is that they asked me not to justify the 5 year gap in my CV and simply asked me to fill it as "Took a break from work/academics for personal reasons"
