A little bit of a sad rant, something I haven't done before.
6 months ago- I was in a job, getting paid 6 figures a month, considered among the 'brightest' prospects etc. But, I was unhappy. I wanted satisfaction. So, in September 2019, I resigned and decided to concentrate fully on CGL 18. I was enthused by the on-time conduct of CGL 18 at the time, with relatively prompt results. I worked hard, scored 550+ till T2 and was sure of landing atleast A job by April-May 2020. Assured my parents as such.
Now - Yesterday, I along with all fellow aspirants learnt that the wait for a CGL 18 job, in the best case scenario, will go on for another 7-8 months. Joblessness will go on for another 7-8 months. I will be out of a job for more than 1 year at that point. Frustrated, I went for RBI Assistant exam today. I was a topper in school, had a CGPA of 9+ in one of the premier engineering colleges, worked in a prestigious private company, cleared SBI PO in the 1st attempt, IBPS PO in the first attempt (didn't join), CGL with 550+, RBI Grade B prelims after 4 days of preparation and 2 mock tests(not bragging, simply stating that it was impossible for me to prepare for RBI Gr B because of some family emergencies, which ultimately led to me missing out on RBI Gr B mains too). Yet, this same guy has failed the RBI Assistant prelims today. No disrespect but the exam was easy as hell. Yet, I failed. I did so badly that I won't clear the prelims cut-off.
I never was mighty but I did want to be mighty. How I have fallen........ My family is embarrassed about me and I am embarrassed about myself too.
