Resigned from IT job, 45k salary, frustrated, fed up of corporate culture. CGL-2019 will be my first and last attempt. Please tell I could crack it with top posts( ITI) if I start my preparation from tomorrow. Is it possible to attain top 100 in just 4-5 months seeing the level of competition.

I too have a similar story. In 4 years of my B.Tech I probably had 10-12 Back logs.
All through my final year , I used to get Nightmares about me not completing my degree. Thanks to Almighty God that finally I could complete it. I thought that was the end of my struggle, but then began the struggle of job and then the decision of leaving that job (meanwhile one of my friends became Excise Inspector). Then Failing in CGL 16. Then convincing my parents to let me take it one more time and then failing again. Then taking a job.... then leaving it again. Then finally after lots of agruments and counter arguments i convinced my parents to let me take it one last time. This was my best attempt.
My Total = 495 (13th Sept)
170 + 140 + 185
I hope , with the grace of Almighty God , I will be able to fulfil the promise I made to my parents.
Otherwise it would become very difficult to live without confidence. Life will become full of regrets.
Q. Why i could n't perform well in CGL 16 and 17?
Ans. Old habits Die Hard.
1. From being absolutely careless , frivolous and emotional guy to becoming relatively disciplined and practical it took me a lot of time.
2. Wrong Direction. My aim was SSC but I used to watch content related to UPSC. I thought I was cut for UPSC. Due to this false notion I wasted a lot of time watching unwanted content online and reading unwanted stuff like 11th 12th NCERTs. SSC prep does not require all this. After I realised my mistakes , the path became more clear. That's why I took the plunge and gave it a last try.
I sincerely believe , if the Direction of prep is right and one is willing to work hard, SSC can be cleared in 1st attempt. That's the reason why lots of the guys crack it in 1st attempt.
