I have seen a lot of posts and videos of people saying CPO 2018 cut off is justifiable and it's no suprise that it went up to a whopping 70%. Let's see what their reasons to say that is :
Paper was easy compared to last year
Number of people shortlisted in much less
Lesser seats
CGL aspirants took this exam in large numbers bcz of the condition of CGL 17 or to see the new TCS pattern
I agree with the latter three points but let's address the first point shall we.
The paper was not at all easy compared to 2017. Anybody who has doubt can check any radom shift paper from this link : https://www.qmaths.in/2017/07/ssc-cpo-2017-question-papers-with-answer-keys-pdf-download.html
When you do so you'll see for somebody who has had minimum training or practice with the pattern of SSC, 2017 paper will be a cakewalk. Most of the questions from GA is from STATIC, and not like the extremely obscure ones from this yrs paper

most of the qstns are like this. aise qstns to mts me bhi nehi ate. ca k qstns to dhundne pe nehi milega jab ki 18 me 50% sirf ca hi tha wo bhi tagda wale.
Q: What is the smallest no that must be added to 508 to make it a perfect square ? ise karne k liye pen ki bhi zarurat nehi padni chahie. jab ki 18 me aya tha :
among 5562121.12 151348.36, 986645.10 452367.24 whose square root is a rational no. ? ye to calculator k karne pe bhi 5 min lag jayega. i encourage u to check the papers of the two yrs and then decide which one's tougher. i know difficulty is not the only criterion to determine cut off but it still is an important one
