The 10% reservation is nothing but a Lollipop. 92.5% of the households have income less than 8 lakhs a year so all of them are eligible now in this 10% quota. This means the seats which were earlier meant for you have been again given to you😂😂. A slight difference in this is the fact that Earlier OBC,SC,ST used to get an extra 50% seats to compete for, but now this has reduced to only 40% . So ~65% of the OBC+SC+ST population has been shunted from these 10% seats. So the Remaining 30-35% of General population is eligible for these 10% seats. Now cutoffs for OBC+SC+ST will increase by slight amount because the extra padding of 10% seats is gone (unless quashed by SC)

If the court decides to cancel 2017 CGL then wouldn't it be more efficient to just merge both 2017 and 2018 CGL?
They could allow people who applied in 2017 to appear for 2018 CGL and combine the vacancies for both years.
I am sure 70-80% of the people in final merit list will be same if both exams are conducted separately which will mean that a lot of vacancies will go vacant because of duplicate candidates.
If you think about it, merging the two exams is the only sane way of doing this but we know that governement is insane.
