Since tier 4 is postponed to Nov/Dec and there is a lot of time in hand, decided to share some useless analysis to spread a bit of positivity.
According to SSC Tube, there are more than 5000 students (but less than 6000) scoring more than 460 in CGL 2017. Lets assume this data is right. Let us consider that 6000 (taking the worst case scenario) students scored more than 460 in CGL 2017. From the last years data it is seen that about 4900 students scored more than 460, lets round it of to 5000 students.
So it means a person who scored marks equal to a rank of 5000 last year would get a rank of 6000 this year. Extrapolating the same ratio and logic for other ranks, we can say
Candidates rank current year = Rank of candidate for the same marks last year multiplied by a factor of 1.2 (6000/5000).
So if a candidate had scored 487 marks (1000th rank last year) this year, his current rank would be 1000*1.2 = 1200 Rank.
Using the same logic, I have come up requisite marks for each of the below ranks. According to be it can be better than this but not worse.
Rank 50 = 521 marks
Rank 100 = 514.5 marks
Rank 200 = 507.5 marks
Rank 500 = 498 marks
Rank 1000 = 489.5 marks

Aaj chsl descriptive me mere se peeche wala banda bada smile kr raha tha. Maine poocha kya hua. Bola maine last yr bhi descriptive diya tha. Then i asked his last yr marks and he smiled again "Medium nhi likha tha" 😂😂😂😂
