No calls from IIMs 2014 SNAP : 96.52 Percentile. Got call for interview, but couldn't attend. 2015 SBI PO : Failed in Prelims 2015 IBPS PO : Failed in Mains 2015 CAT : 96.41 Percentile. Call for interview from New IIMs. Couldn't convert the call. 2015 XAT : Around 80 percentile. No calls whatsoever. 2015 NMAT : 98.2 Percentile. Called for interview but failed to convert again. At this stage, my father got me a contractual job at a nearby firm ( an apprenticeship for one year). Wrote numerous exams like Kochi Metro Jr. Engineer, AAI Junior Executive, NICL AO, SBI PO, IBPS PO etc. Didn't clear even one. I had high hopes that I would get a permanent job at the firm where I was doing my apprenticeship. But a week before my contract period was over, they told me they weren't planning on employing anymore engineers soon. So that hope too was shattered. Then starts my life changing experience with SSC CGL. CGL 2016 Tier 1 : 148.5 ( Around 27000th rank) Tier 2 : Quant : 145.5 , English : 150.5 Tier 1 + Tier 2 : 444.5 (Around 9500th rank) Wrote both tier 1 and tier 2 while doing my apprenticeship. So couldn't prepare at all. Once the apprenticeship was over, joined an institute to prepare for Tier 3. Couldn't prepare very well due to the high negativity. I thought that there was very less chance to get a job as I had to jump through almost 4000 ranks to get a job. But my dad and my teacher at the institute were very optimistic. Still, due to my mindset, couldn't prepare well for tier 3. March 19th 2017 : Tier 3 - Was very happy when I saw the topics of letter and essay. Didn't need much preparation for such generic topics. Did my best. On April 1st 2017 : Joined the same institute for tier1 preparation of CGL 2017. Studied 4 months before Tier 1. Gave SBI PO and NICL another try in 2017. Called for interview of SBI PO. August 5th, 2017 : Was at my institute doing an online mock of cgl tier 1. As I had no hopes of clearing CGL 2016, I didn't bother to check the results. A friend of mine who was with me, checks the results and voila! I am selected as TA in CBDT (Rank 4775 in List 2). Couldn't believe it initially... Was ecstatic (not exaggerating a bit). You learn to appreciate even a small success after failing for so long. Got 73 for Tier 3. August 21st, 2017 : CGL 2017 tier 1 : Got a very favourable question paper. Gets 185.5 (In top 20) In the meanwhile, fails to convert SBI PO interview call. Feb 21st : Have to go through an ordeal of change in quant question paper, but still manages to do well in quant and English. Feb 22nd : Attempts the AAO Paper too. A few days later, its declared that we have to take a re exam for quant on March 9th. March 9th : Does the quant paper more or less the same way as on the first occasion. Tier 2 results are out in June. Quant : 171 English : 190 AAO : 99 Tier 1 + Tier 2 Quant + Tier 2 English : 546.5. July 8th : Wrote the tier 3 exam without any major hiccups or blunders... Hoping to get above 60. P.S. I didn't write this post to show off my scores. Wasn't planning on writing this as there is still a lot of uncertainty looming over CGL 2017. But now that the CGL 2018 has been postponed, I thought that this would give at least some of you, who can very well relate to my past , a push to do better. If you haven't tasted success for a long time, don't worry. You just haven't failed enough times on the road to success. Believe that your time is yet to come. Give your best and hope for the best. CGL17 is proceeding towards cancellation😋😋 stay strong and perform well in upcoming T-1 of CGL17. wish all best of luck. No one can do anything in this. Hope truth prevails. And yes i am a mandbuddhi😂. Do perform well again in T-1,t-2,t-3 again oyherwise you wont get any post or try for Peon jobs in Pvt companies 😄 Sorry brothers but thats the hard truth. Hope you digest that. Stay strong and support cancellation of Cgl17 and then we will celebrate it by lighting 🔥 crackers.
