Lot of people here have been worrying about whether the CGL 2017 tier 2 will be cancelled and reconducted. After going through the FIR multiple times , I am sure that there is minimum chances of the exam being cancelled. For the exam to be cancelled it has to be proved beyond doubt that the paper was leaked before the exam. Cheating doesn't warrant the cancellation of the exam.
From the FIR it is clear that the SIFY team in chennai uploads the paper between 9:30 and 10:00 A.M. And then the Central helpdesk communicates the paper after 10:00 AM. It is a known fact that SSC Tube released the screenshots of the question paper at 10.10 AM. It appears that the sanctity of the paper was maintained till 10:00 AM. I think only after the paper was accesible to the Exam centers was the paper leaked outside (by the time which all the candidates weer inside the exam hall anyway.) So the mischief clearly seems to have happened at the exam center.
Also, had the paper been leaked much before the said event (say the previous day) what is the requirement for the cheaters to use Remote desktop software to mark the answers. They could have solved the paper a day before and marked the answers without taking the risk of using remote desktop software. It all points to a simple fact that the paper was not leaked before the exam, and definitely not to a lot of people. CBI is an efficient org, they will definitely get to the bottom of the issue. Chances of cancellation of the exam is very less.
PS : For people who are wondering if I am wasting time at office posting this, I am on leave. Am not wasting Govt resources 🙌
