the cut off across all posts should not decrease by more than 10–15 marks . the cut off prediction can be done as follows A. tier 1 impact - 3–4 marks decrease = -4 you may ask why only 3–4 marks .? due to tough shifts the overall average of the students have decreased but if you see the rank list on qmaths the average score of top 15000 students has not decreased by more than 4 marks . this is what actually matters . for top 1000 the average score has even increased than the last year . B. tier 2 impact B1 Maths paper impact - decrease of 22 marks the average marks in maths paper has reduced by 20–25 marks (not 35–40 marks as most people say ) . many people are getting 165–170 marks which is equivalent to 195–200 marks of previous year papers . B1 = 22 marks decrease (lets take the average figure of 20–25 rounded off to greatest integer) = -22 B2 English paper impact - increase of 15 marks the increase of 15 marks is even a conservative estimate ( many people i know who never score above 140 in previous year or testbook mocks have score more than 160 ) and you can see for your self the level of paper was 20% easier than last year ) B2 = +15 so to combine the 3 factors A+B1+B2 = -4–22+15 = 11 marks decrease this 11 marks decrease ( to spread it we can say 10–15 marks) is applicable across all posts from TA to MEA , ITI . the last candidate getting job in ssc cgl 2017 would have marks (including tier 3) GEN - 500 OBC - 490 SC - 445 ST - 420 for a 4600 gp post add 20 marks to all these .
