Just because last year a bland topic like earthquake came doesn't means you should start reading Tsunami and landslides. Read everything that you think is relevant for a graduate level exam. Don't skip important Govt schemes and hot topics like GST, Demonetisation, E-way bill, RERA Act etc. Skip politics and local bullshit in newspapers but read papers daily. It's not possible to read everything under the sun, but keep yourself warmed up for anything. SSC is full of surprises. Tumhara pyara- Kim.

These people who post obscene images and ruin other people's name by tagging them blatantly are the reason for the degradation of our society. Here it is very easy being anonymous and posting such outrageous things but what about the real world. Think about you and your family if somehow you end up in custody for such shameful act. I am new to here but if we people don't take a stand against such morons and support such stupid activities then there's no point. Doing all fun is ok but such things should not be accepted at any cost. Women are not safe even in a virtual world and I regret being on this platform🙏

Let's keep it short.
No need to read bulky books by Amartya Sen, Gurcharan Das and likes. Be smart and utilise time
optimally. If you want, you can read their summaries from internet.
Read PM/President/Vice President speeches. They have all the ingredients you need for a good
essay viz. facts, vision and catchy language.
Remember few quotes and use them from now on. Practice makes a man perfect. Don't
procrastinate. Write an essay and get it reviewed. We have seen people getting marks in 60s-70s
who are careless.
At least remember quotes/phrases related to India as you can use them in many topics like
education, governance, corruption, poverty, values etc. etc.
That's it. So, the perfect recipe for an above average score (130+) in essay is :
(1). Read PM/President Speeches
(2). Remember few quotes/phrases etc.
(3). Write few essays and get them reviewed
A clarification regarding my previous post- I agree that there is high probability a general topic on which everyone can have an opinion will come, but still it won't hurt much to have a go through various highlighted schemes,events and acts during the last few months, If you are sincere enough I assume you will prepare atleast 50 odd topics. Now what's even more important is writing practice, don't think you will just waltz into the examination room and can become Salman Rushdie because you know things. A word limit of 250 means you should finish between 240-60 ,no trespassing here. Practice writing atleast 20 topics into boxes before going to exam.
