Yes, from thousands of years a particular community was always at the receiving end. They were not allowed to access education, temple, well etc by people of so called high caste. As a result after independence they were given reservation (for 10 years) and also a very stringet "SC/ST Atrocities Act". But today situation is completely different. General people are as much affected by unemployment, poverty, inflation as Dalits. Why are we punished for the deeds of people thousands of years ago? I don't discriminate against any caste and have no problem in eating, living or sharing room with them. To prevent the misuse of SC/ST act, this amendment is very much needed. It directs police to first verify the veracity of claims before arresting someone. Today's violence in which mob carrying gun, rifles and lathis attacking police personnel and setting public property on fire is an act of bullying & intimidating the govt. Hope good sense prevails.

Just Read a tweet from RG, he is politicising the violence blaming on ruling party.. I am not a fan of this ruling party but I wonder why these politicians always support these reservations, why don't they think of unreserved people votes. Don't know when this inequality in this country ends
