@SSC_Employee7.0 bhai in terms of selflessness,Nehru just cant match Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.Just to give u an example,this was what Netaji had told to German High Command officials,sitting in Berlin,when the latter were not willing to arrange for his safe transit to south east asia and Japan from Germany :
"For the sake of my country,I have risked my neck to come to Germany.I am prepared to risk my neck to return to India.The British CID is very efficient and just as I escaped inspite of it,I shall escape your Gestapo also" " .Apart from this Colonel Hugh Toye,a british army intel officer,who was assigned the mission of tracking Netaji down,had actually become a fan of Netaji in his later life,so much that he even dedicated a book on Netaji and history of INA.the title of this book is "The Springing Tiger:Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose" .
back in 1950s ,when the first edition of this book was published in United Kingdom,Colonel Toye had faced fierce criticism from british intelligentsia,for writing favourable views on Netaji,who was considered to be a war criminal by British govt.Anyway quoting one passage from Toye's book,on how Netaji faced the Japanese :
"The Japanese respected courage,and courage they certainly found in Bose.Bose showed no fear of them and some times little respect,indeed his readiness to quarrel with them over the slightest infringement of his rights was one of the pillars of his reputation...He treated Isoda to such a flow of invective that General was never wholly at ease with him again. There was no lack of physical courage,he could stand as straight as any under aerial bombs or bullets.He maintained a brave independence from the Japanese. "
Nehru was no match for Netaji in anything,save maybe treacherous backstabbing politics.One of the major problems of post independence india is that we have projected the wrong group of people as our civilizational heroes.
