MY ANALYSIS FOR CUTT OFF :- we shall first make valid assumptions to reach our conclusion . My assumptions are as follows :- 1) In this post, I am presenting analysis for INSPECTOR OF INCOME TAX ONLY. (I WILL MAKE ANALYSIS FOR OTHER INTERVIEW POSTS IN SUBSEQUENT POSTS) 2) I assumed that the TOPPER of CGL 2017 will be under 575-585 marks threshold ( 175-180 in pre, 170-180 in maths, 165-170 in English and 60 in descriptive) 3) If you see the marks list of top 300 in CGL 16, you will notice that TOPPER scored 600/700 marks while the candidate at 300 rank scored 564/700 marks. So there was a meagre decline of 36 marks. Now taking into consideration CGL 17, our topper will score 575-585 out of 700 marks so if we subtract just 30 marks out of topper's marks, our 300th ranker will be somewhere between 545-555 out of 700. (READ FURTHER IF YOU AGREE WITH MY ASSUMPTIONS) Now let's talk further about it:- 1) INSPECTOR OF INCOME TAX - This is the most desirable post. Out of top 100 approx 55 candidate got this post on CGL 16 giving us a percentage of 55. Now there are 169 posts for UR candidates in CGL 17. By taking liberty in terms of percentage I will conclude that these 169 posts will be filled from approx top 300 candidates. Marks required for this post in CGL 17 :- There was a difference of 36 marks between topper and the candidate at 300th rank. Expecting the same trend I can say that you have to score somewhere between (575-30 = 545/700) and (585-30 =555/700)

@dushyantss ITI cutoff in 2016 for general is 558.75 i.e last candidate so this time it should be around 538 - 542 (last candidate of 2017) 🎉 🎉
:: guessing without taking state wise vaccancy actually this is the major deciding factor of cutoff coz most candidates preffered their home state otherwise they go with those post from which they got homeposting (eg: excise )
