Everybody is saying cut off will be -20/25 marks due to hard math, but these minus marks will be made plus by English marks, so no effect on cut off, it will remain same as of 2016 I.e 422 for Cgl 1+2

Good posts will see lesser decline in cutoff compared to lower posts because there are always enough people who get good marks irrespective of the toughness of exam. Easy exams like the one in 2016 don't fully test their potential so that they end up getting marks which are almost the same as marks of those who are not as bright but laborious and hard working.True potential of bright students comes to the fore when the level of exam is high, as was the case this time around. So, the brighter ones will stand distinct from others, unlike previous years, and there will always be enough of them to fill in posts which are considered the best ones, thereby decreasing the effect of toughness of exam on the cutoff for superior posts. This is what I feel.

Those who say that cut off will increase/remain same are nescients which means cutoff will surely dip. Now, the top posts(of which the vacancies are handful) will see comparatively less decline as compared to the ones which are aplenty. My prediction is that, top posts will be locked at max 10 marks fewer than last year's cutoff and all the other posts may get locked in a range of 15-20 marks fewer than last year's. PS: Iff the marking remains same in Tier-3.

IP vacancy = 2648(almost 1324 for UR)
Cut-off UR =536(Narco) 538(Post)
Rank for 536 marks---AIR 2196 ; Diff. in vacancy and last rank for UR = 872
CGL 17---
Tentative IP vacancy = 3448( 1724 for UR)
Expected last rank (taking the difference as 872 obtained earlier)= 1724+872=2596
Marks for rank 2596 AIR in CGL 16 = 533
SO dip due to increased IP vacancy = 3 marks
Now many thoeries have emerged regarding the dip in marks based on tier1 + tier2 marks to be around 20 marks.
So after taking into consideration the new factor of increased vacancy in IP
The new dip should be 23~25 marks at least
