India is home to 24 crore households out of these 10 crore households, mostly reside in rural areas, are still deprived of LPG as cooking fuel and have to rely on firewood, coal, dung-cakes etc. as primary source of cooking. To address this, PM Narendra Modi announced Ujjwala Yojana in May 2016 which to replace unclean cooking fuel with clean and efficient LPG.
This is the largest social welfare scheme that ministry of petroleum and natural gas has ever undertook. It aim to provide 5 crore LPG connection in the name of women in BPL (Below poverty lines) households by 2019. Moreover, government will provide EMI facility for meeting cost of stove and refills. Money saved in LPG subsidies through “Give it up” campaign will be used to fund the scheme.
Accordingly, successful implementation of mission will help mitigate hazardous effects like respiratory diseases and cancer associated with unclean cooking fuel and prevent premature death especially of women and children. Moreover, it will also reduce the demand for wood hence benefiting environment.
However, still one third of households do not know or believe that the using LPG over traditional chulla has positive health benefits hence hamper the demand of cleaner fuel and those interesting cite that no LPG distribution is available in their vicinity.
Ujjwala Yojana has the potential to eliminate burden of disease due to burning of unclean fuel in rural areas and benefit environment as well. But, many are still unaware of or not interested in the scheme therefore it is important that government undertakes awareness drive for the success of Ujjwala Yojana.

it is an revolutionary initiative aiming to connect people with the government and also participate in financial transactions.once digital india becomes a reality,nearly 30 lakh employment opportunities were envisaged.also many multinational companies like microsoft etc came forward with a promising investment of 4.5 lakh crore to a nation which is the biggest exporter of it personnel.
