A smart city is the city that uses the technology efficiently on all the functions of the city including various sectors like health, energy, infrastructure and many more. During the visit of our PM Mr. Narendra Modi to United States Mr. Barack Obama the president of US offered assistance in development of Smart Cities. Mr. Obama's visit to India on the eve of Republic day they have promised to support development of three Smart Cities. Hence, India and US signed three Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs).The US agreed to partner with India in developing three smart cities - Ajmer, the city with large Muslim population; Allahabad, for its Hindu pilgrimage centre and Vishakhapatnam, being the victim of Hud-Hud cyclone. A task force team has been appointed to prepare the action plan for the development in the next three months to overcome the incipient troubles. Each team will consist of three representatives each from central and respective state governments and the USTDA (United States Trade and Development Agency). According to the signed pacts, the state governments and officials will help in providing technical resources and date for planning, staff, logistics support etc while the USTADA will assist in the areas of infrastructure building, capacity building and feasibility studies. In order to achieve a smart city the citizens should be responsible and should act like sensors, volunteers, reporters and informers. Finally, I conclude Smart Cities are said to be "New address of Urban India". The idea of Smart Cities development with advanced infrastructure is highly appreciated. We hope our government will work selflessly to reach this goal and make our India having one of the best smarter cities in the world.

The Dirty Politics
Politics, a field which was earlier thought to be a noble profession. A profession which requires selfishness, benevolence and altruism. A field where you sacrifice your self for others. But this definition doesn’t pertains to politics any longer, now the term ‘Dirty’ is a perpetual suffix for politics. Today people join politics to fulfill their personnel ambitions and desires. A person elected by people no longer works for the welfare of Voters. Their complete focus is to accomplish their self motives. Politics today has increased Corruption which has given additional push to other unwanted problems like Terrorism, Black Money, Naxalism etc. A survey in 2016 showed that 44% of MLAs of different states have criminal cases against them, this itself indicates the dirtiness of politics. With that the growing nepotism in politics is also a serious worry for country. The Old age legacy of Kings of transferring throne from father to Son is back in politics. Our daily newspapers are full of reports showing the real paces of politicians. Many scams such as vyapam, 2G, the common wealth games scam etc has again and again put dirty linen on politics. Disproportionate asset case of AIDMK chief Sasikala is a latest instance that shows the avaricious nature of politicians. So, its high time, and the ‘alarm of danger is ringing’, we as the citizen of india should take steps to remove this dirt. We should know the power of our vote and shouldn’t vote for politicians having criminal background. By doing so the so called definition of democracy will be alive once again. “of the people for the people and by the people”
