Women Empowerment
In the last decades, government has come up with various schemes to empower women. But still picture looks dull.Gender wage gap and patriarchal dominance still prevails in the society.Half of the women labour force are not getting satisfactory jobs. Those who are getting ,they are exploited by giving low wages as compared to their male counterparts for the same work. The top corporate positions are held mostly by men as still many doubt on women's capability.
Nation cannot progress completely until it uses its resources till its potential.Almost fifty percent of India's population comprised of women .If these resources are put into use, nation will be on the highway of progress with very few speed breakers.
Government has implemented various schemes such as Rashtiya mahila kosh, priyadarshini,MCTS and many more for the empowerment of women. To achieve objective of the above said schemes it is necessary to ensure that they actually benefit the targeted people and fund allocated to such schemes do not leak away.Corporate sector should be incentivize for allowing women to hold management position.Gender wage gap must me diminished and women must be encouraged to take part in family decisions.Women must be encouraged to take part in politics as number of seats aloof for them remains vacant. Most of the developed countries in the world have equal participation of women in their developmental activities.
If nation needs to progress ,women must not only be designated to unpaid care work, they must also be brought into the mainstream of workforce and allowed to chase their dreams.
Indian Floods, drought-> steps for prevention and possible resolution.
Pointers, pls add yours:
1) Flood & Drought-> The two extremes of rainfall, excessive rainfall leads to overflowed banks resulting in floods while scarcity of it leads to drought.
2) In India a lot of population i.e. approx 60% depends on rainfall (majority being farmers & rural population). Any of the above two processes can send major shockwaves to the flaura & fauna industry of India.
3) Farming affects significant part of India's GDP and as a result of which every year dude to both of these many casualities are reported. Eg: Overflow of ganges, floods in chennai, scarcity of water in Lattur & Marwaha district of Maharashtra.
4) Impacts: Suicide cases of farmers are increasing day by day for varied reasons like due to low profitable income, highly unorganized sector for grant of loans and insurance cover, highly chanrged interest rates on loans given for seeds, fertilizers etc. and lower rates given to farmers for their yield with no protection of crop damage.
5) Resolution: Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana has been announced by our honourable Prime Minister at premium rates of 1-2.5% to help farmers even if their crops are damaged or the yield was affected due to floods, drought or any catastrophic events. National Agriculture Insurance Scheme (NAIS) was also started in 80s to cover 14 states but did not yield fruitful results.
6) Soil Health Cards being issued to farmers. Soil Health cards will contain health report of the soil used for harvesting, the crops to be grown to give maximum yield, use to organic fertilizers. The cards will be updated on quarterly basis.

TOPIC: INDIA: NEXT POSSIBLE SUPER POWER
India with population of about 1.2 billion is the 2nd largest country in terms of population and seventh largest in terms of geographical area. In recent years India has progressed in various fields despite various challenges which makes us believe that it could be the next super power of world. There still needs to be lot of work to be done to actually realise that dream.
The robust economic growth rate of 7.6% in year 2016 makes India to be seen as possible destination of investment by countries of world. Geographically too India has an added advantage as it is placed in the central region of Indian ocean which helps it in maintaining good connectivity with rest of world also it leads to presence of vast global Indian Diaspora with its citizens present in more than 100 countries.Due to its diverse culture India has large tourism sector as well.
Despite the above mentioned points it is still a paradox that India has more than 52% of population below poverty line as stated in recent UNDP report 2016. The "TRICKLE DOWN THEORY" has not helped India and more than 50% of wealth of country is occupied by mere 1% population. This vast income inequality makes larger section of society to be deprived of basic amenities like food, education , good health etc.
Though challenges as large but the recent pace which we have acquired makes it possible that the dream gets transformed into reality. It will require effective co ordination from all the citizens of country and government needs to make a long term road map in terms of policy making which needs to strictly followed. We have been a global super power in the past and can be in the present as well.
