Just wanted to share a different perspective with other puys...

How valid are multiple intelligence tests then that decide an individual has an aptitude for something in particular and is best suited to that?

I would advise people to not waste money on such tests. I dont believe that people are fixed. People are flexible and the
brain keeps changing throughout life. I would never say that just because youve turned out a certain way in a certain test at a
certain time, you should consider that a life sentence.

I would advise people to not waste money on such tests. I dont believe that people are fixed. People are flexible and the

It is one possible scenario out of many, some experiments may suggest situation X while others, Y. Since this thing don't have any empirical evidence as yet (AFAIK), we can't rely on this.
Colleges tend to follow the safest path, where they won't be ridiculed in general (not talking about the aspirants 😃 ). In that sense, colleges have no choice but to stick with past academics. Moreover, I think many aspects of a management program are academically rigorous, and CAT being the 'real' random number generator these days, IIMs are just trying to minimise the risk associated with it.
PS: Only IIM C is following CAT scores religiously, because it was one of the early proponents of CBT CAT. It can't step back from it now.

"I would never say that just because you've turned out a certain way in a certain test at a
certain time, you should consider that a life sentence."
Awesome Quote!!!
BTW, I too have lost my faith in CAT. I taught my frnds for CAT and they scored percentiles far more than me. I know my caliber and I know what I am meant for. hat I have learnt is that in India, your knowledge is the secondary thing.
DEGREE and CATEGORY is what matters the most. Log bolte hia India ko corruption free banana hai...ANNA ka sapna pura karna hia...jab tak ye reservation ka kida rahega corruption will never be rooted out from the country. If u r an MBA from IIM A,B,C u r a gem but if u r an MBA from *&^%$#@!@$%& college, u r no better than a B.Com. graduate.
My personal advice to all aspiring MBAs...
Money does matter a lot in career but what matters more is your happiness in doing our job. If you are going for MBA just for the sake of Hefty pay packets, plz reconsider ur decisions...bhailog 3 IDIOTS ko yaad kar lo...
That movie was real eye opener. Aajkal gali gali Engg. colleges hia but sach me Indai me kitne Enginers hai jo jhud se kuch naya invent kar sakte hia, kisi ne socha ye???
BE kar liya ...IT company me job kar liya..frustrate ho gaye..MBA kar liya..frustrate ho gaye..achchi larki se shadi kar li..kuch din ki khusiyan aur fir wahi ghisa pita job. Life is not all about these things. Hum parhte hai so that we can get the job that WE LOVE.

Sorry if the post hurts someone.

rightly said, it is one of the perspective...
And the problem with IIMs is that they don't want to consider that perspective.
There are ways to find a middle ground so that everybody gets a fair chance to prove its mettle. But IIMs have simply closed their doors for people who have poor acads. And that is the bone of contention.

Anyway, I know in india how people justify their biased actions and more importantly how blatantly they justify them.

As far as empirical evidence is considered, a researcher would be having better and all rounded results than a particular institute which simply quote that so and so students are performing better in their institute without considering other parameters affecting those results.

"The times were living in make life relatively easier for people who are flexible and can switch from skill to skill. It makes things more difficult for people who are averse to risks and prefer going deeper and deeper into one particular thing."

gud one..... as i belong to second category people:|.
