The total number of seats still remains at 93 as we had informed. However, this is the maximum intake and the institute reserves the right to admit a lesser number.

The number of General seats remains same as last year. Only the OBC seats have increased.

Last year all the seats were not filled up. This is mainly because, the institute gives calls to a fixed number of people whom it thinks are good enough to be a part of SJMSOM. After this, they release a waitlist for a fixed number of people. However, if even after this the total number of seats does not get filled up, they dont call more. This is because the profiles/skills of the people who had not been given calls earlier, does not fit into the profiles of the candidates they have been looking for.

Hence, the same may be the case this time. For 93 seats the final call list and the waitlist will be much more (maybe around 130-140). However, if only 80 of the above join, the strength of the batch remains at 80.

I think the institute still doesnt want to compromise on the standards they follow to give calls, irresepective of the increase in seats. Hence, the calls still remains at the same number.

I hope this makes things clear.
