Statrting this thread for all those who have secured admission to SITM pune. Since much activity is not happening in the other thread....thought that we shud discuss abt the queries we have here.....not mant seniors there at the other thread coz of exams n all...many of us might have still manged to get a peek into the col thru our sources lets all discuss abt the col in general...share our resources. Anoyne who is not joinin the col is also welcome to discuss the reasons for nt joinin that way we can have both the pros and cons of the col.......coz every col has its gud n bad things. Ppl are also requested to post their profile so that we know how diverse the batch is.........

From my sources the following info has been collected abt the col:

1. Infra: Nt that Gr8....In one building they have two floors....above SITM we have SICSR. No WIFI.

2.Placements Avg Pkg: 5.46 lacs last yr

3.Visiting Companies: All from telecom & software

4.Job Profiles: Info reqd nt much headway.

hi everybody,this is siddhartha here
i have got into the systems and finance course
education:btech E&TC;
work ex:0(but not a fresher,i took a gap for preparations)
i have some queries...what are ur plans about accommodation,can we get houses near the college
do we need to brush up on any topics before we start with the classes....i was going through the prospectus and was wondering if we have to brush up any programming languages...its a worry for me as i am least interested in codings

Well dood surely u can get accomodation near the col......there is a place called sangvi near the col where u can get cheap accomodation(It was basically a gaon now developed)..the only prob in pune is they have a 11 month agreement for accomodation in case u rent a flat so ul have to shell out that sum along with some brokerage.......pls b very careful abt the brokers coz many of them cheat u into pathetic flats...n then u r stuck...do check water supply to the flat as soon as u enter one coz its a huge problem in pune.......With my interaction with some of the seniors the system specialization is more on a tech side so its better u b prepared i think in the syllabus u have C++ prog if pos get hold of some books like "let us C++" by yashwant kanitkar ....etc n brush up..as it is u have time since u nt workin.....dnt worry u wnt b doin hard core programming otherwise it wunt have been MBA it would have been MS then....u jus need to b familiar with that thats it....hope it answers some of ur concerns.......n ya BIKE is a must in pune as the local transportation is pathetic.....otherwise a kool n happenin place ul njoi..

hey guys....i guess it would be better to stay somewhere arounf SB road only..and i think rent will be around 2200/- per person..ya bike is a must in pune..and there is no proper local transport available near by college i suppose..

If ppl are plannin to stay on COT basis then it should do..but if wanna rent a complete flat...with jus a few ppl then i dnt think it b done at SB rd...

Dood m workin in a private firm in Andheri...here we have received applications from SITM ppl for Summers.....the stipends demended are 8k but we will bw givin them arnd 6k....so u see summer stipends are in this range....

Will try to get in touch with the ppl who have applied ....n keep u posted

The hard copy will be given to you on demand...go there n ask for it...got it just yesterday from the col...they make u wait for 4-6 hrs.......for the loan approval u will require that letter...deposited the fee from my pocket have the letter now so they will reimburse the amount now after one month of depositing the cheque from the bank....to them
