I have applied to Simon in Round 1..thts Dec 1 deadline..I was interviewed on Jan 19 by Tim Wilmot. Still awaiting the decision.
Well, Profile is ok types.
Wrk Ex -- 2 years
Gmat - 710
ECs -- Decent
IT/Male -- biggest hurdle..

What attracted me to simon was the strength of their finance program and the location NY..I am looking at Fin so it helps.but they do not provide guaranteed loans and cost is quite high.this is kinda turning me off. but they have great placements in Finance. I have heard this from an Alum. Lets wait n watch.

Lets see.. Their decision date is Feb 15..one week frm now...lets hope for the best

Hey Girish,

You are right... v.good Finance & Accounting school with good industry links. But since you'll be switching industry (IT to Finance, right?), how good are your prospects for a good Finance job post MBA? Have any of the alums commented on that?

I have heard from an alum that Simon isn't very generous when it comes to disbursing scholarship funds. Also, few opportunities to earn-while-you-learn. So you'll end up spending Rs.30 lacs at the minimum I would think. Any comments?

Well, you right. Career switchers do find it tad difficult. But internship experience helps a lot in this case. So we need to find a decent intern offer. Again here, school brand helps. As far as scholarship is concerned, I dont hv much info. But I heard frm the same alum tht if u apply early u hv a chance of decent aid. U need to push them for more. Well, if its 30 lacs. I will have to think about it. 30 lacs without the guaranteed loan will be an uphill task. lets see. As of now, i am waiting for the admit offer. 😃

Hi,
I have a Simon admit with 25% tution waiver. Had applied to Dec 1 deadline and interviewed on 25 Jan.Interview went gr8.Interviewer was very nice and we had a nice rapport going although it was the middle of the night here in india.

Hi. i am currently in the final year of my bachelors degree in India after which i will be having 15 years of formal education. i wanted to know that whether dese skools accept 15 years of formal education or 16 years of formal education? if u want i can mail u my resume . help me out . i don thav work ex only a part time . i work as an insurance davisor for icici .its not part tiem but not full time either u no how d work is. ill b graduating dis year.

Looks like this offer was given to me!! same offer i guess 15k per year.... What have you declined this offer for? Which school?

But Owen is prety costly even after the schol.
