hi seniors
Am trying to get a clear picture of the college and so am going to ask few things...
1) First and foremost ..what is the cut-off marks last year and what is the range of marks that find themselves easy to sail thru
2) How much profile matters during giving a call and converting the same
3) How does institute judge the work experience of a guy who is working in IT field and comapare them with others, mainly commerce and other background are they(commerce one ) at some advantage as the course is structured in that manner..
4) What kind of profile the passouts were provided in general ( forget this year)

many websites and my institute says that SIIB's cutoff score was around 74 last yr... how do these institutes have this figure when college doesnt disclose.... please help... is it not the true cutoff score???? i have 2 years of experience at infosys... what kind of questions r asked n d interview..

@ ghooda

u can put your aggregate percentage as 74% and B.tech as your qualifying degree.

hope you got answer to your question.

plz get back to this thread only for further queries.

hi ankita ..

As satyam had explained it correctly , cut-offs given by institutes are like exit poll surveys . My suggestion to you is to work hard to get good marks . You have decent work ex . and if combined with good score can give you ticket to siib interview list.

All the best .

Hi Guys.
I am having 38 months of exp in IT. I want to know how SIIB will help me giving new edge to my career. Are there students in SIIB which are having more than 3 years of exp in any of the field and as i am more interested in finance will it fine as my exp is in IT. what was the median pay package for this year (09-10).
Thanks.

my profile-
10th-71%
12th-57.6%
after dat
25 months xprince in my own business
now b.tech-65%(till 6th sem)...

@ nikkishailesh05

Yes
There are a few people having more than 3 yrs of experience ranging from manufacturing to IT.Work experience will help you at every step , be it shortlisting or final selection.
If you want to specialise in Finance , IT experience can be projected to some extent if you have worked in the financial services vertical(you need to project finance related work in your IT work ex).
However, if you are aiming at lateral positions you will definitely get a significant leverage if you go back to IT sector. It all depends on how you project your CV and the company's requirements and roles offered.

@mohitkhanna

Hi ,ofcourse your family business is as good a work experience as any other. In fact , one hones various other skills while running a family business which one might not learn while doing an IT job.You just need to produce the relevant documents to prove your work ex.
Regarding your profile , i would suggest you to do your best in SNAP and GD/PI process.
With a good score in SNAP coupled with your work ex , you can be a part of SIIB .

well i would like to ask all symbi puys here that last year after snap.. there was a clamour that maks obtained came to be less for many aspirants.. atleast heard ds from my seniors who wrote snap. though later it got rectified as per symbi website still ppl said that 2 was lesser..
i heard that most of the seats at symbi instis were filled by donation only.. so called management quota.. overtly or covertly.. though in symbi prospectus n documents its stated that only few seats r under that quota n its in ads i even saw sybi stating never to take up donations i heard that snap ranks even after all rectification constituted very less in final calls n admssns.. is this true.. or true to what extent.. what exactly then takes place at symbi procedure...im not saying its bad or sumthing 4 dm 2 take donations but i want 2 get facts right b4 i sit at snap . if only few seats are on merit and snap i feel its not rational 2 spend so much money (1500 snap + 1000 bucks each insti if im nt wrong ) after symbi atleast for me....
i would like to know exactly how many setas are available n what about all ds reservation managemennt quotas in instit like SIBM SIBM bangalore SCMHRD SIIB n SIOM...in each of them n exactly.. thnxx

@ sanmoy07

Hi , as far as rectification of marks are concerned , this was done correctly later.I also got less than expected initially but after rectification , got the expected figures and finally i got admission.Hence,be assured that after the rectification, all marks were in place.

Hi Everyone,

Im an mba aspirant and SIIB is one of the colleges on my list this year. Can anyone please let me know about the past 2 years placements at SIIB ???

Anirudh.

Respected seniors please explain it
"Against the backdrop of the global economic slowdown, SIIB managed to complete a very creditable placement process for the batch of 2009. Although the process got stretched much longer in duration as compared to the preceding years, the Institute provided placements to close to 90% of the eligible students of MBA - International Business and close to 85% of the eligible students of MBA - Agri Business"
above paragraph is copy of SIIB 07-09 placement satatics on SIIB portal (sorry if i voileted any rule of PG)
i just want to know what is the meaning of 90% or 85% of the ELEGIBLE STUDENT.
what it condition of eligibility ?

Hi Mohit

SIIB has a few eligibility criteria like 90 percent attendance at the end of 1st year and all backlogs cleared before appearing for any placement related activity.SIIB is very strict regarding this criteria and someone not fulfilling these criteria is debarred from placements.

Thank you very much for your valuable suggestion.
I have one more doubt.
As my 12th marks is below 60% and i m facing lots of problem in my BTECH right now because lots of company especially IT companies consider 60% or more throught .
So same condition is also in SIIB or not .
at what extent this 12th marks may creat problem.
Does all SIIB recuriter consider 12th marks too or PG performance????
senior please
happy diwali to all of you
